On 22 January 2015, The Times of India revealed that a track from the film titled "Judaai" will "complete the film's musical story" and marks the first collaboration of Arijit Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj in a duet.[4] The duo had earlier worked in Barfi! (2012) where Bhardwaj and Singh performed the original and reprise version of the song "Phir Le Aya Dil" respectively.[5] Apart from Barfi!, they also worked together in "Kabira" from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), where Bhardwaj performed the original version while Singh performed the encore version of the song.[6]
The released music video consists of several snippets from the film, showcasing various phases of Raghu's (played by Varun Dhawan) life. According to India.com, the song "shows how one feels when they are separated from the one they love, especially under tragic circumstances".[9] It was conceptualised as a setback where Dhawan reminiscence his past life with his wife and child.[10] Dhawan, picking the song as his personal favourite song from the album declared that the "video of "Judaai" is actually what Badlapur is, that's how sensitive the film is".[11]
"Judaai" was digitally released on 23 January 2015 as part of the soundtrack album of the film.[12] The music video of the song was officially released on 2 February 2015, through the YouTube channel of Eros Now.[13] "Judaai" was the third track released from the album, after "Jee Karda" and "Jeena Jeena".
Rajiv Vijayakar from Bollywood Hungama expressed a mixed response to the lyrics of the song. Vijayakar thought the lyrics have an "unnecessarily high proportion" of Punjabi, though some of the "lines connect, with their simple familiar language". Regarding the vocals, Vijayakar affirmed that Singh "overshadows" Bhardwaj, "which does not happen every day, given her calibre and skills".[17] Rucha Sharma of Daily News and Analysis stated; "In their first collaboration together, Arijit Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj take turns with the hook, Chadariya jheeni re jheeni and the result is spectacular. The use of the sarangi touches your heart".[18]
According to Surabhi Redkar of Koimoi, "Judaai" proved "how versatile Sachin-Jigar are since they are also the composers who have given us peppy numbers in the past". He further commented that both Singh and Bhardwaj "give their best and the soft musical arrangements give it the required calm".[19]

Badlapur, a psychological revenge-based thriller directed by Sriram Raghavan, was a commercial success last year and brought accolades to its ensemble cast. Owing to its soothing melody and moving lyrics, Jeena Jeena, was a huge chart-buster and remained on top on iTunes for several months. Hope you like my effort Ashwin, do let me know your feedback! Dehleez pe mere dil ki
Jo rakhe hain tune kadam
Tere naam pe meri zindagi
Likh di mere humdum
Haan seekha maine jeena jeena kaise jeena
Haan seekha maine jeena mere humdum
Na seekha kabhi jeena jeena kaise jeena
Na seekha jeena tere bina humdum

Revenge has never sounded this awesome. Varun Dhawan who will soon be seen in Badlapur gives an electrifying look and feel to the latest track that released today. The song 'Jee Karda' is dark, edgy and powerful. Sung by Divya Kumar, the music adds to the feel of the entire video.Varun Dhawan amps up in the new track of Badlapur.
In the film, Varun is a man on a mission of revenge. One, that he has been nursing for 15 years. He is willing to forgive his enemy, but only after torturing him to death. And what he does to avenge himself, will make you cringe with fear.First look - Badlapur
Loverboy Varun Dhawan has completely transformed himself into a middle-aged older man with revenge on his mind. The role certainly wasn't a cake walk for the actor as it drained him completely forcing him into depression. Full points to the actor for going through the pain. He looks convincing.
