We hope you have noticed that how lobbying for summer internship selection is flourishing in our beloved IMT- Ghaziabad campus. Many junior committee members were getting the chance to appear for GD, sometimes even for interview without clearing the GD and without having minimum required marks criterion given by HR. The worst part is that these people are getting summer internship offer from reputed companies and will represent IMT. It is the greatest insult to the deserving students of IMT Ghaziabad who either are not getting short-listed at all or dealing with the mounting frustration over not clearing the GD even after doing really well in it.
Also, there were incidences of placement handlers standing inside the room while the students are having GD during recent summer placements (please note: Its not the demand of HR). Can you please explain why it happened and why not any placement committee members had taken any actions even after knowing all these?
Special messages to the following person---
@Debajib Das, CULCOM secretary, Tetra Pak Process Handler, SIP 2013:
Even before starting the GD process you had omitted some names as per your convenience and included many people who were not eligible. Don't think that we do not know the HR criterion; you are not the only smart fellow here. Tetra Pak HR criterion was 70 % throughout (Xth/ XII th/ Graduation).
Also, we know that you had arranged for special interview for SAWC and CULCOM members in the evening. Obviously you were successful in killing chances of other deserving candidates. Not to our surprise that one of the SAWC member, Laksh Sharma (1301-105, graduation – 61.74 %) made it to the final round without clearing GD ‘ethically’ and finally got selected in Tetra Pak.
What a shameful display of student culture of IMT!! and you call yourself secretary of Cultural committee!!!
@Tanya Srivastava, SAWC secretary, Idea process Handler:
Congratulations on manipulating life of many IMTians. You not only was standing inside the room when GD was conducted but actually making sure that others , whom you don’t prefer, didn't get through the GD.
many a times SAWC told us not to shout and be too much aggressive during GDs. But many IMTians didn’t know that the rule isn’t applicable for SAWC members. Its evident from the conduct of the SAWC members who made it to Marico.
We have seen the better part of your Passion!! I hope all IMTians now realized the truth that even after doing well in Passion management and cultural event, they are on the mercy of your biasness to get selected and even to win. Hopefully other B-schools also noted the fact and will stop participating in future events of IMT.
@Ankit Sharma, CCMRC secretary , Tetrapak Handler:
Hats off to you dude! You taught us how to execute public relation more effectively. Congrats that your wild card ‘not eligible’ entry to Tetra Pak, Prashant Sahni (1301-155, XIIth- 64.8% , graduation- 64.25%), successfully fooled the HR. But he was more successful in fooling executives of Hector Beverages, so in a way your effort gave him a choice of selection where many deserving and eligible IMTians didn’tget the chance to appear for PI.
You people don't deserve to run or even be a part of any ‘better IMT group’
@IMTians: Whoever were there in Marico GD and wondering that why didn’t they get selected even after doing well, please note that the selection for PI had very little dependency on GD. Because some special SAWC members were given a wild card entry to appear for interview even after actually failing to clear GD. Students form one of the GD panel knows that there is no way one of the lady could have got selected by blabbering continuously.
Also, please note that your chances of selection even after making it to the top four lies in the mood of process handlers and committee members. I guess IMT wants to teach IMTians the way to deal with continuous rejection. Even the chances of getting short-listed are very little till all the committee members get placed.
You have two options -- sit back and watch all these things happening and repeating again in your final placement or else unite against this evil rising in your beloved college. Voice your opinion, seek answers.
Also, any true IMTian must feel ashamed of associating him/herself with any of these committees.
@Vishal Goyal, Pappachan, BCPD teachers:
We know you are working hard for IMTian’s future. Are your SPC and JPC doing the same!! They knew what was happening but still they didn’t take any actions to stop it. You have forced IMTians to sign a document having stupid rules of lower 20 percentile in BCPD and mentioning the word ‘debar’ atleast 30 times. Are you not suppose to ‘debar’some of your SPCs who gave way to these unethical practice of lobbying & selection in summers and other committee members who did such great acts with pride to ruin future of more than 300 students? Ifyou can’t do it then please refrain from calling yourself ‘Professional’in any way.
Also, stop treating us like a bunch of well-dressed MBA jokers. We are not here to be just displayed as bunch of MBA students wearing formals all the day and just waiting!!
@Bibek Banerjee, Director of IMT:
Please read your IMT vision and Mission statement again---
“To be a leading management institution that contributes to the development of business and society through excellence in grooming leadership, entrepreneurial talent and research.
”
· To create intellectual capital in terms of scholarly and practice oriented research relevant to its evolving techno-civilizational context
· To foster a worldview that promotes diversity, inclusion and ethical participation in the interconnected world of business
· To forge meaningful partnerships with the industry, academic, government and social sector such that sustainable businesses are built fulfilling the collective needs of various stakeholders and the society at large
· To continually promote a culture of academic excellence benchmarked to the best institutions in its peer group
(http://imt.edu/AboutIMT/VisionandMission.aspx)
You are truly grooming leaders through unethical practices and ‘irrational’ biased rules.
Your students (specially your student committee members) are truly entrepreneurial as they were implementing new ideas to fool HR of many companies and they are successfully in throwing many deserving students into deep depression. I guess that’s how you ‘forge meaningful partnerships with the industry’!!
These students really have great talent in them, specially your Cultural Committee secretary and SAWC secretary otherwise how can they ruin so many lives of IMTians! and they do a lot of research to strike out names of deserving candidates from the placement process. We believe that's how you ‘continually promote a culture of academic excellence’!!
There are lot more incidences of summer placement to quote. You will get to know all of this if you just keep your ear and eyes open.
--Without any doubt, we can quote the first week of 2013 summer placement as ‘The Week of Great IMT Placement Lobbying’
Coming back to you Mr. Goyal,
as we understand, you are unnecessarily and irrationally very pro-active in laying out norms such as lower 10 percentile will be debarred from placement, lower 20 percentile studentsin BCPD subject will be monitored and may get debarred for final placement (declared after the 1st term exam was over!!) …..etc..
What we can’t understand is, why can’t you put your intelligence behind formulating a norm for stopping the ongoing unethical practices of lobbying in summer internship and final placements? Why not make IMT a fair place to study and grow as a true MBA graduate. We hope you will form an ACTIVE ‘Anti-lobbying Cell’ within IMT to ensure that IMT’s image does not get tarnished further.
One request to you from every IMTians including alumni,
“Do not make IMT Ghaziabad an interesting subject of case study of ‘Unethical Practices’ and ‘MBA for Fun’ for other B-schools”
We hope you will take necessary actions and rectify the mistakes committed in terms of final selection. Please ensure that its been done otherwise we will be forced to request HR for candidate profile verification. Companies selected students from IMT Ghaziabad with the hope to add value to their organization and not unethical practices.
With No Regards
Unfortunate IMTians!!!
