Subject: Research Associates - MBA Study Material Preparation for IRT
Dear Ms. Das,
It was a pleasure talking to you the other day regarding this upcoming project. As requested, I am sending you this mail clarifying the specifics of the project.
Institute of Rail Transport
(IRT) has entered into an agreement with VELTECH to conduct programs for
a course on MBA in Integrated Logistics Management. I have been requested to be
on their panel as a Subject Matter Expert for preparing the study modules for
the following three subjects:
a. Information Technology for Logistics Services
b. Design of Logistics Services
c. Strategic Issues in Supply Chain Management / International Logistics.
In order to complete this activity, I am required to appoint Research Associates whose main task will be to assist in providing the structure, references, bibliography and so on for each module that will be broken into Blocks. Blocks are further broken down to Units. Each subject is expected to have 4 to 5 Blocks and each Block to have 4 - 5 Units. Each unit is expected to contain 5000 - 10000 words.
Since one can work from home for this project, I was wondering if IMT student(s)
would be interested in participating in this project. I can have two Research
Associate per Block and they will be compensated directly by the IRT and will
be given due credit in the modules when printed. Once the Research Associate
is/are identified, I need to share the name and the project outline with IRT so
that they have all the information with them in order to make payments. I would
prefer that we have a joint meeting with the IRT officials once we shortlist
the candidates. I also strongly believe that the students associated with this
project will gain immense knowledge on the subjects they work on and will also
get opportunity to interact with officials in the Ministry of Railways and thus
gain experience.
The first of the three modules is required by July this year and hence I am
pressed for time to identify a person for this module/subject. Ideally I would
prefer to have separate Research Associates for each each of the three subjects
in order to work towards completing this project by August/September (for the
other two subjects). I would prefer that we complete all the three modules
within the next three months.
The remuneration decided by IRT is Rs. 15,000 will be paid to the Research Associate as lumpsum per module and the Lead Writers will be paid Rs.10,000 per Unit. As stated above, the payment will be made directly by IRT.
I'd appreciate if you can let me know if IMT would be interested in letting
their students know of this and provide a suitable set of candidates who
may be interested in this project. With this mail, I am attaching the scanned
copy of the letter sent to me by IRT appointing me as the Subject Expert for
this project.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Sanjay Rao
