Dear All,

I am seeking for ideas on the most ideal way of capturing daily progress reports in IMSMA. I have been capturing each individual report separately and only creating the necessary links to the related hazard however, when it comes to reporting, the system only returns the stats of the first progress report that was made and hence misrepresents the actual progress on the hazard.

On the other hand when I thought of combining all the progress reports into a single form, it also creates a challenge when you want to make analysis of progress for only a given period for the same hazard. (Actually it returns cumulative statistics)

At the moment I am pretty mixed up on how this can be accurately approached and I would appreciate any suggestions.

Kind regards,

Dear Afreda

First I would ask if you really need daily updates...it adds to the workload in the field and risks compounding errors, and really doesnt add much value to projects which are usually measured in years

Dear Bob,

Great thanks for the feedback. I do agree with you however, its common in some programmes that the operation heads what to keep track of every single activity that has been carried out on specific hazards. In this case all progress reports might be attached to this hazard in the IMSMA. In my scenario the workload is not much of a problem since I have the required human resources to do the data collection and entry however, the challenge now arises when reporting progress statistics for shot periods like two, three or six months for the same year.

Kind regards,

Vinek Elisabeth

Dear Afreda,

I am sorry for jumping in this discussion so late. I’d be happy to help, and also to know better about various reporting requirements, so that we can address them in IMSMA reporting tools.

Could you please provide some more details on what you would like to achieve, and what tools you are using? You write that when it comes to reporting, the system only returns the stats of the first progress report that was made. Are you referring to the summary (current view) window in IMSMA, or to iReport (or another tool)? How do you extract the statistics?

With some more clarifications on how you would like the daily progress report to be structured, I could look into it on my side and give more advise and examples.

Best regards,

Elisabeth
