What do the straight through vs crossover jumpers do? If you use a crossover cable I'm assuming you put the jumpers in the crossover position? I have a serial cable that works with one device I have (an AEA PK-232 amateur radio TNC) with the terminal jumper in straight through, but the same cable only works when connecting to my Sun Ultra 60 when in the cross over position.

I'm trying to understand whether the cable I think is a null modem cable/crossover is actually a straight through cable or vice versa.

Thanks, Kevin

As per the notes and the schematic at https://thehighnibble.com/vt132/operation/#vt132-stand-alone-edition-2

The cross-over jumper settings just swap Rx and Tx for each interface, but also CTS & RTS
