I've been working on updating the great vt100 terminal project (the 3d printed part) so that it can be put together without requiring glue, and to make just a facade that should be the right size to sit on top of the IMSAI 8080 esp case.

I'm debating on going through the trouble of creating a new hackaday project (I'm for sure going to share the new 3d files with  the original creator Michael Gardi, but he suggested I might want to create a separate project as well to share more details).

Just pinging the idea here to see how much interest there might be for it.  I've spent a lot of time on it and have it basically to the point where it's going to meet my needs, but if I'm going to make a project I'd end up spending a lot more time cleaning things up and whatnot.

Oh, and I'm also making it so that it's printable on my prusa mini+ since it has a fairly small 180 x 180 x 180 print area

I was able to get this so that no glue is needed to assemble it (other than the logo plate) Thoughts?

That's really, really nice - I like the compressed size, as why not? And it takes up a lot less desk space. Is that a 10" screen, like the Pimoroni one? Looking forward to the plans!

This is EXCELLENT.  Can’t wait for the final plans!

If you make a VT220 case I’ll send you a bottle of your favorite alcoholic drink ;)

Cheers

That really is a beautiful design, and I think your updates to make it fit on a more common 180x180 printer bed is brilliant.
I can't wait to see the final plans...

Thanks!  I think it turned out well!  It's an 8" screen, the one Michael Gardi who created the original vt100 3d models used:
"This is a PIM372 (Digi-Key part number 1778-1225-ND), an 8 inch 1024x768 XGA display. "  -quote from his hackaday.io page (https://hackaday.io/project/177596-23-scale-vt100-terminal-reproduction/details)

Haha, I don't drink alcohol actually, but if I have some free time I may just look into do that  :)  I'm sure the hardest part would be getting accurate dimensions and good drawings from all sides.

Thanks!  I guess it does sound like it'll be worth creating a hackaday or instructables page for this.  I'll try to get that done in the next couple of weeks.
