For a noob (like me) the instructions for configuring Wifi STA mode are incomplete.

It would be helpful if you added that STA mode is only active IF you enable it via Switch 3 during the NVS config process. It took me quite a bit of searching through this group to find a reference to this and figure it out.

Cheers Derek

PS, your instructions are great, but could really use some photos and diagrams - text alone is not super easy to follow. I ended up using your videos to build my 8080 which was missing some minor updates on things like the acrylic reinforcers etc.

Derek,
The first sentence under the link you referenced: https://thehighnibble.com/imsai8080/configure/#wi-fi-communications
reads:
  • The ESP32 has on-board Wi-Fi and can boot in either Access Point (AP) or Station (STA) mode. The mode is determined by the NVS_IF_STA bit in the startup configuration stored in NVS and described above.
The link on the word "above" takes you to the NVS configuration settings that further explain the meaning of the NVS_IF_STA bit referenced in this sentence. I'm not sure that I can make it clearer, and I can't see that the instructions are incomplete. If you'd like to propose better instructions there is a link at the bottom of most pages where you can edit the content and post a Pull Request.

On the topic of the build instructions: I would expect anyone building the kit to watch the videos as a starting point. You are right, text alone is not easy to follow for everybody, although that is exactly what some people want. We all have different learning styles - so I offer both the written instructions and the videos. Hundreds of people have successfully built their kit with these instructions and the videos so I figure they provide enough detail between them.
