I'll put more information on what the various leadership articles and
acronyms are when I have more time...I'm also only part way through
the course (and won't be done until early November). Another option
is to just provide the leadership materials separately to the
instructors of the club.

Finally, we could tailor each packet to the individual (rank). This
would involve 3-ring binders instead of fancy clippy things ($1-2 per
student vs. $3-5 per student with binding vs. $? with an online
printing service), and could include a breakdown of the student's
current kata as well as their promo requirements.

i think we shouldn't include the leadership stuff in this one, its
pertinent to the kc members more, but not to everyone. they get enough
crap about leadership.
so what i would have in there would be:
1. etiquette
2. safetey (including our own sparring rules)
3. essence chapters
4. ppt slides
5. vocab
6. vocab "homework"

Oh...I don't think I was clear enough. When I said "limited # of
packets" and specified ranks, I was referring to all the material
between the "Leadership materials" and the "Dojo Etiquette." So all
that other stuff like leadership success, instructor's creed, would
only go to the highest ranked IMSA KC students...I wouldn't want the
Intersession kids to have to read all that stuff yet.

Good call on the ppt slides and vocab...I'll update that right now.

k, having edit issues again.
under etiquette:
-bowing
-addressing instructors/higher ranks
-responding to questions (& potentially asking... we need to decide
how much formality we want and which things we want to enforce)
-respect
under safety:
-something about stretching
under ppts:
-what about that "kata" ppt that was really more about vocab? do we
want to have one that is just vocab words- especially if we were to
make a sort of ppt with pictures for everything. that might be
interesting... potentially.
we could also look up floor pattern pictures for all the katas- i know
they exist.
under terminology:
-the higher level vocab can be in all of them, just need to let the
lower ranks know that it's not all required for them to know, just
interesting info for them in the future.

do we want to make a sort of cover page? like, with the logo, and the
title... haha if we had a dojo-kun or creed or something that would go
there too.

So i made the changes you suggested, except for the inclusion of the
vocabulary powerpoint...I feel like that might be covered in the
chapter from the Nagamine book. What do you think?

yeah but cynthia always wants to show that ppt right?
so don't we want to include it in the handout...

i added another file (the physics of karate) which is a cool article,
that we might include in the packet
