Dear Adee sb,

Jazak Allah

I will share information about honey usage with kalonji and zaitoon

Let me explain your querries,

Two tablespoons of Hives Berry (Sidr) Honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, if given to a cholesterol patient, it reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours with first use and will reduce further on regular usage but it does not mean the 10 % reduction on every usage.. I hope it will clear in reader's mind.

As far as bulk production of honey in Pakistan is concerend, Pakistan is an agri based country. sourtheren and northeren areas of Pakistan are rich with forests, greenery.

Honey bee keepers and growers are extensively available in in the northeren and sourthern areas of Pakistan. these honey producers are not well educated, not well known about honey science and market, here comes the middle man or traders, who collects honey from them and supply to market. honey production is huge no doubt and demand is even greater,  Local market of honey is mainly of polyfloral honey. Sidr honey is not publicaly available in Pakistan retail market. so it is mainly exported.

The sidr honey which is exported is some times mixed with polyforal honey in such a ratio that the sidr honey taste and colour remains dominant. this is daone mainly due to price competition and due to demand and supply gap. because the 100 % pure raw and natural sidr honey is not viable at this price. however some international customers are able to get sidr honey with out mixing due to thier long term business association, deep contacts and trust, and that honey is sold at higher price.

in order to increase the production, some honey producers spread sugar syrup around the honey bee boxes which leads to fast production of honey. this typeof honey cryastalize fast as compare to pure sidr honey and also available at relatively low price. ALso starch is also used as a thickening agent, while centrifugation process is also used to geive a creamy look.

Kashmiri sidr honey is famous becasue it is considered to be collected from the deep forests in Kashmir, but this thing is not all the time true. some other regions of Punjab like, sun skesar valley, potohar region, north frontier borders of KPK etc also produce honey in bulk.

I dont have authentic proof of honey export to yemen and then re export to KSA, but i have heard about it in local market.

the only thing in this business is the strong bonding and trust of customer on supplier and strong control, monitoring and trust of supplier on his honey source/producer.

Hashmi surma is a famous brand with long legacy here in Pakistan, i dont have thier exact sale figures, but your information seems true, however there honey is polyfloral and not a famous brand in Pakistan. i have a contact for surma supply and they claim the quality comparable to hashmi surma, ispaghol husk also have a huge market,

i tried to answer the querries in best spirit, let me know if i am able to do this.

Best regards

We need some info from you for the future posts :

1.      Mystery behind the huge tonnage of Sidr Honey produced in Pakistan; & why it is so cheap (we have it as 50/- Saudi Riyals per kg)

2.      How pure is Pakistani Sidr Honey; it is supplied in BULK at middle-eastern countries & you are aware that Saudi Arabia has very strict customs which don't allow Honey to get cleared unless lab tests are performed for its purity

3.      Pakistani Sidr Honey is exported to Yemen & then re-exported as Hadhrami Sidr, how correct is this information?

4.      Hashmi Honey (from Hashmi Surma group) will be coming to Saudi Arabia now & they claim its purity, have you ever checked Hashmi Honey, I am not sure about their Honey but Hashmi Surma sales is around 40 Crore (400 Million) rupees per year, you will be surprised to know this fact

5.      Experts say that Honey spoils if some mixing of impurities is performed by a human's hand (like mixing sugar-cane Molasses), is this true ?

6.      How fake Honey is produced ?
