You are invited to the Delhi edition of the Urban Lens Film Festival
which opens with the film "Pichla Varka" on 8 November 2019 at the India International Centre followed by a conversation with the director, Priyanka Chhabra and the editor, Anupama Chandra. The festival venue then shifts to the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan between 9 and 10 November 2019.
The festival line-up this year includes a tribute to Agnès Varda with a screening of her film “Jacquot de Nantes”. A special screening of Lalit Vachani's "Recasting Selves" will be followed by a conversation with Sanjay Srivastava, Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Economic Growth, who conceived the idea of the film.
The Looking Back section will screen non-fiction films that framed the city before the proliferation of digital media. Paromita Vohra’s "Unlimited Girls", Rahul Roy’s "Sunder Nagri" and Reena Mohan’s "Kamlabai" will be showcased.
The festival closes with the screening of "Lovely Villa - Architecture as Autobiography" followed by a conversation with director, Rohan Shivkumar and associate director, Avijit Mukul Kishore.
