I recently purchased Google Apps for my self and my colleague. I used GTB & GTI to transfer our tasks to our new account via GTBak for export up and Create New Tasks for import from our old Gmail accounts. For her account, It worked, no problems. However, for my account, nothing is importing. I have 3 places I can view my tasks from (attached in pictures) and after many attempts, all with no change.
How do i fix this and get my tasks imported? Thanks

Hi Nick,

Thank you for the detailed screenshots. I have just tried to import a GTBak file into a Google Apps account, and it worked for me, so I'm not sure what is happening here.

I have checked the GTI server logs, and it showed that 99 tasks were created in 10 tasklists for your ni...@nickebnerfitness.com account at 20:27 Sydney time (about 2 hours ago). The Google Tasks server did not return any errors in creating those tasks, so they should be visible when logged in using that account.

Two possible things to consider;
  1. The Google Tasks server may have been slow in updating. There have been some reports of the server taking several minutes to actually update the data that is available for display. That is, the server has the data, but it is not yet displayed at https://mail.google.com/tasks/canvas. Could you try again now please to see if the tasks are now visible? You may need to force a refresh in your browser to get the new tasklists to display. I don't use a Mac, so I don't know how to force a refresh on your machine; sorry.

  2. There have been numerous stories over the years of Google servers getting confused when multiple Google accounts are used within the same browser session. May I suggest that you try logging out of ALL your Google accounts, then logging in ONLY to this account, then checking https://mail.google.com/tasks/canvas again? I know this is a pain, but I have heard that this procedure has worked for other people.
Note also that the Tasks displayed in the Calendar view are only those tasks that are in the default tasklist. Unfortunately, that is a limitation of Google Calendar.

Because Google does not allow GTI to overwrite the default tasklist, tasks imported using the "Create new tasklists" GTI option will not appear in the Google Calendar tasks view. There is a workaround though: Rename your default tasklist in your original account to @default before running GTB. When GTI processes tasks in a GTBak or CSV file where a tasklist is named @default, GTI will insert those tasks into the default tasklist in the importing account.

I hope this helps,

Julie
