Trying to empty default list.

I have a load of duplicate tasks in my default task list (>13000).

I have exported them to CSV, deleted them all but 1 task and then imported back into google tasks using the Google Tasks Import.

Every time I import the list back it creates a list called Undeletable Default nnnnnn with the original 13000 tasks in it. 

I have tried both Delete all tasks before import and replace tasks lists contents and they seem to do the same. I have also tried renaming the list name in the csv before importing again and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Its very annoying that Google don't allow you to delete the default list that would solve my problem.

Am I using the tool correctly?

Hi James,

Yes, you are using Google Tasks Import correctly. As you have noted, Google does not allow the default task list to be deleted, either by the user or by any third-party app such as GTI, so there is unfortunately nothing that I can do. People have been complaining about the inability to delete the default list since at least 2010, so it doesn't appear that Google is going to do anything about this.

Some people have tried automating the deletion of each task. Here are some examples, but I do not know how well (if at all) any of these solutions work;

One other option would be to write a Google Apps Script, but if I remember correctly, a script times out after 10 minutes, so may only be able to delete a few hundred tasks at a time.
