Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind is an American superhero audio drama podcast series created by Eli Horowitz featuring the DC Comics characters Harley Quinn, The Joker and Batman.[1] It is the second in a series of Spotify podcasts based on DC's characters, the first being Batman Unburied and followed by The Riddler: Secrets in the Dark.

Back in 2020, DC Comics, Warner Brothers, and Spotify announced a partnership to bring exclusive scripted podcasts to the audio streaming platform. After the inaugural project Batman: Unburied launched to great success, a new audio drama seemed inevitable. Sure enough today the second project from this partnership was announced today. Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind is a brand-new audio series starring Christina Ricci and Billy Magnussen as the respective characters. Check out the audio trailer here.
The two parties have expanded their team-up to include a slew of original, scripted series centered around such comic book icons as Wonder Woman, Joker, Superman, Lois Lane, Catwoman, Katana, The Riddler, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn. I think the fanbase will respond to this in an exciting way and embrace it as something new and novel," said DC's Chief Creative Officer, Jim Lee. "[It] supplements all the other ways they take in the DC Universe."
Right now, we only have details for Batman Unburied, an audio drama that delves into the "darker aspects of Bruce Wayne's psychology." Created and produced by screenwriter David S. Goyer, the project is expected to debut on Spotify sometime this year.
"I've been fortunate to have had a hand in shaping how audiences see Batman and now, it's really fun to have a hand in shaping how audiences hear Batman," said Goyer, who helped form such Caped Crusader projects as The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. "With Batman Unburied, we're going to be doing a deep dive into Batman's unconscious mind, into his dream state. We are really leaning into playing around with the idea of surround sound."
"As we continue to see explosive growth in podcasting around the world, we are thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. to build this slate of programming drawn from the worlds of DC and WB," Dawn Ostroff, Chief Content and Advertising Business Officer, Spotify, said last July. "We could not be more excited to be working with Robert, Peter and the entire Warner Bros. and DC teams to deliver new exclusive stories to the more than 286 million Spotify users."
Earlier this month, DC announced a Batman comedy podcast for HBO Max that is unrelated to the deal. Westworld's Jeffrey Wright (who is also playing Jim Gordon in next year's The Batman) will lead the talented voice cast as Gotham's Caped Crusader.
New audio leaks ahead of the Joker's debut in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, giving fans a new look at the character as well as a defining moment in his particular story. Since launching at the start of February, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which hasn't gotten off to a great start, even though there are parts of the game that fans seem to really enjoy. However, Rocksteady has plans to continue tweaking the experience, with planned changes coming soon as well as the first season coming in a couple of weeks.
As a live service title, the plan is to keep Suicide Squad growing with new content through a seasonal model. As previously revealed, Season 1 kicks off in March and not only brings with it a new playable character with an Elseworlds version of Joker, but the season will be adding tons of new content to the game, including costumes, new activities, gear, and missions to check out. While many were surprised by Joker's new look and voice, the change is actually for a reason as newly leaked audio files give some context on who this character is through a surprising backstory admission.
The reveal appeared on the Suicide Squad subreddit, where a user named M00r3C posted a short video completion of audio files from the upcoming Season 1 character. Not only can fans hear more of this new version of the Joker, considering he sounds quite different from the more traditional Mark Hamill version from the previous Arkham games, but the audio actually contains new details surrounding this Elseworlds Joker story. While Rocksteady previously confirmed that this Joker variant is a completely new take on the character, more vaudeville and not quite as crazy as what fans are used to.
However, based on the audio leak, this Joker clearly has an unhinged side, as he not only confirms that his old Suicide Squad teammates all died, but that he was ultimately the one to do it. Reminiscing over the final moments as well as the "sprays of blood" and "signed hair", this Joker mentioned that he killed them because he cared for them, and that he'd do the same to this current squad. The comments were all very positive, with many saying that it helped this version of the Joker, especially for those who weren't impressed by the short clips from Rocksteady's last Suicide Squad dev diary. Others commented that this Elseworlds Joker seems to resemble villains like Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2 or John Doe from Telltale's Batman game, a bit unpredictable and using humor to mask how unhinged they really are.
In addition to an alternative form of Joker, Rocksteady seems to be playing with the Elseworlds idea for many of its upcoming DLC characters. While not officially confirmed as of yet, the big rumor is that Season 2 is adding an alternative form of Mr. Freeze to the playable roster. In this case, it's heavily rumored that it'll be a female version of the iconic DC villain named Victoria Fries, alongside an ice-themed Season 2. Rocksteady has teased future content, but as of now, has not confirmed anything beyond the first season.
Christina Ricci will star as the voice of Dr. Harleen Quinzel AKA Harley Quinn in a new audio drama from DC and Spotify titled Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind, which chronicles Dr. Harleen Quinzel's transformation into Harley Quinn as she attempts to get inside the mind of the Clown Prince of Crime, only to discover she's fallen in too deep.
It's a story listeners may well know, first told in comics in the graphic novel Batman: Mad Love from Batman: The Animated Series co-creators Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, who also created Harley Quinn herself. Harley's descent into madness as she grows dangerously closer to the Joker has even made it into film in an abridged version in 2016's Suicide Squad.
"So when she meets 'Patient J,' a unique criminal who seems to have a strange power over everyone but her, Harleen makes a fateful decision: to use her relationship with J to get what she needs, leading both of them down a dangerous path that will change their lives forever."
Rounding out the cast are Billy Magnussen of No Time To Die fame as the Joker, and Justin Hartley, best known for This Is Us, as Batman. Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind is written by Homecoming's Eli Horowitz, and is available exclusively on Spotify now.

Priced at $79.99, the Moondrop Joker presents an appealing combination of attractive aesthetics and build quality. Its spacious and clean tuning makes it a nice choice for daily gaming and multimedia needs.
While it may not provide the same level of accuracy and openness as other open-back studio headphones, it offers an affordable alternative for prosumers seeking clear vocal reproduction or smoother treble response.
The Joker closed-back headphone from Moondrop was leaked a few months ago and left more than a few audiophiles intrigued by an appearance that mimicked the earcup design of the legendary Sony MDR-R10 headphones along with a lower price tag.
Inside the driver unit houses N52 Neodymium magnets and a lightweight CCAW coil. The driver also employs a flexible damping suspension ring around the membrane and in the middle, fusing together a partially rigid alloy-coated dome composite diaphragm.
Moondrop drew inspiration from the renowned Sony MDR-R10, specifically its tilted ear-cup design recognized for its ability to enhance the acoustic qualities of closed-back structures. This design influence can also be seen in other headphones like the Hifiman HE-R10D, another tribute to the MDR-R10.
On the earcups, you can see a smiling face that looks more like Koro-sensei from 殺せんせーQ! (Koro teacher quest) than Joker to me. Nevertheless, this subtle artwork does help to add some fun factor to the design.
The headband on the Joker is wide and allows for easy adjustment. While there may not be markings on the extendable parts, it is still easy to gauge the number of steps pulled out. The build quality is satisfactory and the aesthetics reminiscent of the Sony MDR-R10 is awesome.
On both sides of the earcups, you will find a socket to plug in the cable supplied. In other words, it means that you can swap it out for other aftermarket options such as a mic cable if you are using it for gaming.
The Joker comes in quite a big box as the headphones do not have a foldable design. As always, you can expect an artistic cover and when opening it up, the accessories box is also nicely decorated. You will find a user manual booklet and a 3.5-6.3mm converter for connection with amplifiers.
The Joker exhibits a W-shaped response with plenty of bass energy and dipped mids. Compared to quite some studio cans the Joker has a larger driver that allows its bass to deliver a stronger punch. There is clearly more warmth in the tuning than in average studio monitors.
