Berserkers have a ridiculously thick skin that causes most weapons to do little or no damage, but a small amount of fire from a Scorcher causes its skin to become permeable to other weapons. Most of the time in horde, a free Scorcher will spawn during a Berserker boss wave - simply use it for a few seconds on a Berserker until its skin looks molten (black and orange), then use another weapon until its skin returns to normal. Repeat as necessary.
same answer as tom, when the boss wave starts whatever you need to win will appear at some point, so someone grab the scorcher and set about wiping out all the other enemies first, leave the beserker alone until theres only 1 remaining. the person with the scorcher pops a few seconds flame down on him and move the remaining 4 players can shoot him in the chest with whatever weapons they fancy,
This goes with what the one guy said, but i have an xbox brother, and when we play, a successful tactic we use is one has a scorcher and the other a retro lancer or a mulcher, and jace (my brother usually has the scorcher) would use the scorcher then reload and i would spray him with bullets, repeat. It generally works rather quickly. Just a friendly teamwork tip.
Some people are claiming that you can get 2 silverbacks in horde but you have to buy an extra command post. Well I just played on sandbar which is pretty big and I bought every single command post and then someone bought a silverback early on and for the rest of the match I couldn't find anywhere to buy another silverback. What's the deal?
The reason there is only 1 Silverback spot on every map no matter what base you buy....is because you can only have 1 Silverback. I hope to god Epic leaves it that way too...1 Silverback is already overkill, 2 would just screw the other 3 guys out of getting any money.
I have done Horde on every map, there is only 1 Silverback spawn on them all and once you buy it, you can't buy another one. Perhaps it was their intention to allow multiple Silverbacks even if I think it is a stupid idea...but right now I don't think you can.
Next week will be a busy one for Gears of War 4's [official site] scarred soldiers. First, its ever-popular Horde Mode is getting a big update, and second, those who haven't yet had the joy of chainsawing through a DeeBee's face will be able to do so for free as part of a time-limited trial.
It will also add new difficulty levels: Inconceivable, which is naturally one step up from Insane, and Ironman, which will be an option for the game's campaign. As the name suggests, when you die you'll have to restart from the beginning. So, yeah, don't die.
But what about this free stuff I mentioned? Well, between 9 and 15 June you'll get access to ten hours of gratis gameplay including the first act of the campaign, the improved horde mode and the versus mode, which is cross-playable with our friends on the Xbone.
Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
The Locust Horde are the main antagonists of the entire Gears of War video game franchise. They originally live a subterranean lifestyle beneath the surface of Sera by underground tunnels (known as the Hollow). These tunnels were spread out throughout the planet while different groups of humanity (COG and UIR) were at war with each other over Imulsion. This war would be known as the Pendulum Wars that lasted for 79 years. While this conflict was happening, the Locust were fighting other Locust that were infected with Imulsion (the Lambent). This civil war lasted for an unspecified time but it eventually forced the Locust out from the Hollow and invade the surface (this happened six weeks after the Pendulum Wars ended). When the Locust made their appearance known, the event became known as Emergence Day or E-Day. Any type of negotiation with the Locust failed and would lead into the events of Gears Of War.
The beginning the of the Locust Horde started at the New Hope Research Facility. During the start of the Pendulum Wars, many of the Imulsion miners who had taken part in the Gold Rush began contracting a serious illness after extended Imulsion exposure. The infected members of the population were gathered by the COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments) and moved to New Hope where it was hoped a cure could be found. Unfortunately, the Imulsion began to mutate and an early form of Lambency took hold. This resulted in the creation of the Sires (predecessors and parents of the Locust Horde). Fearful of the media and political response towards these mutated people, the scientists of New Hope sealed the Sires away and took their children to Mt. Kadar. The children of the Sires had Lambency in their cells and were mutated from birth, and so the first Locust were born.
To most of the people on Sera, the historical background on the Locust is generally unknown. Many theories on their origins have been suggested by the remaining human population. One such example is that the Locust came from a neighboring planet (or one of its moons) and feed on Imulsion. Other speculation exists saying they came from Hell. However these rumors are merely superstitions and were later turned out to be false.
Five years before E-Day, Imulsion started evolving in the Hollows. Exposure to this Imulsion mutated all biological creatures and became the Lambent. This started a war against the Locust Horde deep in the Hollows, forcing them to leave their homes. Queen Myrrah desperately entered into a pact with Adam Fenix. If Adam Fenix could find a way to stop Imulsion from spreading, thus saving the Locust race, they would not have to invade the surface in order to survive. However, Adam Fenix was preoccupied during the Pendulum Wars. Therefore he could not find a way to stop the Lambent in time. Adam used the last five years to finally create the Hammer of Dawn and end the Pendulum Wars between the Coalition of Ordered Govenments (COG) and the Union of Independent Republics (UIR). Before the peace treaty between the two Seran alliances was signed, Adam reflected on his pact with the Locust Queen hoping she would not invade the surface.
Unfortunately for Adam and humanity, they invaded six weeks after the Pendulum Wars were over and attacked every major city on Sera (this strategy was orchestrated by General Karn). The assault left billions of people dead in the first day. At first, the COG thought the UIR or the Gorasni were responsible. It wasn't until Chairman Dalyell's announcement that the attackers were subterranean in nature and not human. This gave the message to everyone on Sera they are not the only intelligent species on the planet.
6 weeks after E-Day, the Locust were led by General Karn and he coordinated a massive assault on Halvo Bay. Kilo Squad led by Lieutenant Damon S. Baird attempted to stop him with the Lightmass Missile in hopes that killing him would stop the Locust. This failed but they killed hundreds of Locust with the Missile and in their efforts to fire it. After a fierce fight with Karn and his mount Shibboleth, both were killed and the Locust lost their military leader. However, this was a minor victory as the Locust quickly replaced Karn with General RAAM and continued on their mission to destroy humanity.
The Locust at this time defeated the COG and were close to wiping out humanity. Humanity, however, in a last ditch effort, used the orbital laser weapons satellite known as the Hammer of Dawn. This destroyed 90% of the surface and killing everything trapped on the surface within the blast zones. The Locust survived the Hammer, but were not able to accomplish a swift victory like they had hoped.
At the same time that the Hammer of Dawn was deployed, Chairman Richard Prescott organized an operation to kill Ukkon, the Locust's head scientist, literally a monster who made monsters. Ukkon was responsible for the creation of many of the Locust Horde's monsters such as Corpsers and Brumaks and would continue to make even worse things if he was left unchecked. Prescott assigned Sergeant -- formerly Lieutenant Colonel -- Gabriel Diaz to hunt down and kill Ukkon, although he was left with limited resources and only whatever personnel he managed to recruit along the way from rescued Gear squads and the Stranded.
During two failed attempts to kill Ukkon, it was discovered that he had powerful regenerative abilities and that he knew Major Sid Redburn. Redburn eventually revealed that the Locust and Ukkon in particular were created due to illegal genetic experimentation started at the New Hope Research Facility decades before. With Redburn providing proof in the form of stolen files, Diaz confronted Prescott who attempted to kill Diaz and his forces for learning the truth. However, Diaz had anticipated this and had fed Prescott the wrong coordinates.
A remorseful Redburn revealed that the scientists at New Hope had created a failsafe called Cytostatic Gas that could completely jam up Ukkon's healing ability, rendering him vulnerable to harm. Collecting the necessary chemicals from a UIR chemical weapons depot, Redburn was able to create the gas while Doctor Mikayla Dorn weaponized it into a grenade form. Determining Ukkon's most likely location, Diaz and his forces rescued Reyna Torres from a Locust prison camp and Reyna -- who was, unknown to everyone, the long-lost daughter of Queen Myrrah -- was able to direct them to an old UIR lab where she had been hiding with her father but which Ukkon had taken over as his new base of operations.
Diaz led an all-out assault upon Ukkon's lab with Dorn managing to hit Ukkon with a Cytostatic Gas grenade, rendering him vulnerable. Ukkon attacked with his newest creation, the Hydra, but he was defeated and the Hydra killed. Confronted by Diaz, Redburn, Dorn and Reyna and with his healing abilities still blocked, Ukkon promised that his creations would outlive them all before being shot in the head with a Snub Pistol by Reyna in revenge for murdering her father. With Ukkon's healing abilities still blocked by the Cytostatic Gas, he was unable to regenerate and died of his wound. Unable to return to the COG, Diaz dedicated his forces to hunting down and killing all of Ukkon's surviving creations.
