DUTIES: As a Palace Acquire Intern, you will learn a wide variety of intelligence functions in the areas of collection, analysis, production and dissemination. Applies knowledge of the assigned organization and basic structure of the Intelligence community (IC), employs methods of collecting, analyzing and evaluates multiple sources of intelligence data to assess developments, trends and threat implications for senior level policy and decision-makers. Researches and reviews products involving political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, scientific or military conditions, patterns and forces in foreign areas which directly or indirectly affect national security. Areas of analytical focus may include political/military studies, air/air defense/space studies, foreign area studies, foreign weapons systems and counterintelligence. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of principals and concepts of intelligence collection, analysis, evaluation, interpretation and dissemination of information. 2. Knowledge of the basic natural or social sciences, and/or engineering discipline as applied to intelligence operations and procedures. 3. Ability to research, analyze and evaluate data. 4. Skill in oral and written communication. 5. Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: You may qualify if you meet one of the following: 1. You completed a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree. Preferred fields of study are: Political Science, Economics, History, International Relations, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Geography, Geospatial, Foreign Language, Psychology or Criminal Justice, however all degrees will be considered. (Submit a copy of ALL OFFICIAL transcripts or current unofficial transcripts if currently enrolled). Degree must be received by 31 Aug 2014 from an accredited institution. Applicant must also have documentation of obtaining Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in one of the following: a) Class Standing - upper third of the graduating class based on completed courses in the college, university, or major subdivision; b) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. If more than 10 percent of total undergraduate credit hours are non-graded, i.e. pass/fail, CLEP, CCAF, DANTES, military credit, etc, you CANNOT qualify based on GPA; c) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society (note: freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this position). GG-05 level or equivalent experience could also have been gained through substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. General clerical experience, such as typing, filing, etc., would not be qualifying GS/GG-05 level experience. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level or equivalent grade under the General Schedule (GS) or other pay systems.
