Marketing and Communications Specialist

We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time Marketing and Communications Specialist to uphold the brand consistency and high standards of external and internal communications. In concert with the Events and Marketing Team, this self-starter will serve as the "face" of the Marketing side of the Events and Marketing Team and work will include but not limited to spearheading the media relations component of the company, providing content for the new internal Intranet, and assisting with social media. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 
• 
Work with the Events and Marketing Team to design, create and distribute marketing flyers, promotional documents and internal correspondence for use in both Busboys and Poets and Eatonville restaurants as well as manage design and production for printed materials, brochures, signage and other marketing pieces. 
• Solidify media relations with print media and promote Busboys and Poet/Eatonville through outreach to various local and national media vehicles. 
• Implement weekly e-communications with Busboys listserv and identify opportunities to build online audiences and maximize the effectiveness of online outreach. 
• Provide quality assurance for content poste ensuring that Busboys/Eatonville branding is appropriately and correctly conveyed throughout our online, print, and broadcast materials. 
• Promote the company brand, using conventional media and innovative social media and ensuring a consistent look-and-feel to all publications and materials including our logo and organizational image. 
• Provide on-site support at the restaurant, when necessary, and assist Events and Marketing Team in other tasks, as needed. 
This position will collaborate with the owner and Events and Marketing Team others to achieve brand consistency, coordination of messages, and the highest standards for internal communications. This position is responsible for coordinating organization-wide design, message, and content generation, including electronic and print communications. 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Candidates should be personable, have excellent time management, project management skills, verbal and written communications as well as graphic design. This position requires a passion for events and for creating a high quality guest experience. Key qualifications include: 
• Established contacts and connections with the local print and broadcast media; 
• Outgoing personality, comfortable meeting new people; 
• Superb customer service skills in a fast-paced environment; 
• Strong attention to detail; excellent multi-tasker with a positive, can-do attitude; 
• Ability to work under pressure. At times, ability to work flexible hours that may include mornings, evenings and occasional weekends; 
• Experience collaborating/interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization. 
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 
• 
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field preferred with 1-3 years of experience working in a professional setting 
• Experience in the restaurant industry, events coordination, and/or social media a plus 
• Excellent oral and written communications skills required 
• Ability to handle multiple activities, events and projects simultaneously 
• Proven ability to excel in a team environment 
• Public speaking ability (media, community partners, trainings, etc.) 
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Constant Contact 
• Strong connections with and familiarity with core Busboys/Eatonville values 
• Must be able to bring new ideas and creative input to Busboys/Eatonville's marketing 
• Must be able to work in an office, a restaurant setting, and within the community 
• Flexible enough to work in the evenings and on the weekends, at times
