No team is closer to the nexus of politics, technology, and advertising than Google’s Elections team. Working directly with campaigns and their digital consultants, we help campaigns to raise funds and to persuade, and mobilize supporters through online advertising. The use of online advertising in political campaigns is growing exponentially – and our team is excited to be able to provide the best possible solutions to our clients. Focusing on Search, Display, YouTube, and Programmatic advertising, we help bring the cutting-edge tools used by corporate advertisers to political campaigns on both sides of the aisle – as well as to Super PACs. 

As a Google Political Advertising Intern, you will work a full-time, paid internship from June - November 2016 alongside the Google Elections team in Google’s Washington, D.C. office. You will be responsible for designing online advertising strategies and implementing the tactics that will mean the difference between victory and defeat for many candidates. You will also learn the skills needed to support our clients’ accounts and goals. When the campaign season reaches its peak this fall, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact as Election Day approaches. 
Responsibilities 

Work side-by-side with the Google Elections account support team, assisting with everything from day-to-day involvement in the details of client accounts to participating in strategic discussions about helping our clients achieve their goals. 

Execute projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research and strategy development. 

Develop client proposals and presentations. 

Minimum Qualifications 

Be currently enrolled in a 4-year BA/BS program, in any major, at a university in the United States.

Will have completed their 3rd year of study and able to begin the internship on June 20, 2016 and currently an undergraduate Junior with an expected graduation date between December 2016 and June 2017. 

Experience working on political campaigns at the state or national level. 

Have authorization to work in the United States and able to begin the internship on June 20, 2016. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience working with or buying online media, as well as a basic understanding of Google advertising products. 
Strong computer application skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. 
Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate self-directed learning. 
Strong interest in politics, technology and advertising. 
Excellent creative writing and verbal communication skills.
