Department Description AllianceBernstein’s Client Group is comprised of three functional areas: Sales and Client Service, Marketing and Product Development. We manage approximately $150 billion in retail assets and $227 billion in assets for institutional clients (as of September 30, 2013). Our Retail team offers diversified investment solutions that help our clients build and preserve wealth. Our Institutional team looks after clients across more than 40 countries, including private, public and Taft-Hartley pension plans, foundations and endowments, insurance companies, central banks and governments. Job Descriptions Summer Internships are available on the following teams: AllianceBernstein Institutional Investments Intern The Institutional team focuses on delivering the full scope of the firm’s investment services to private, public and Taft-Hartley pension plans; foundations and endowments; and insurance companies. The Institutional Investments Summer Intern will play a key role in fulfilling the servicing needs of these clients. This candidate will support client service teams in the following functions: opening/closing accounts, client reporting/due diligence, preparation of marketing presentations and general troubleshooting in response to client inquiries. They will have the opportunity to interact with senior investment professionals throughout the firm and act as a liaison with various departments—including portfolio management, legal, operations—involved in maintaining client relationships and fulfilling various requests. AllianceBernstein Investments Intern (Retail) The AllianceBernstein Investments Summer Intern will work closely with the Strategic Sales managers and their teams to support them in all aspects of their business. This will include conducting investment analyses on our competitors, creating sales and activity reports for the sales force, preparing presentations for client calls and participating in team meetings. The Intern will also work with the Strategic Sales managers on special projects with potential for significant business impact. 529 Product Management Intern The 529 Product Management Summer Intern will gain exposure to various aspects of our 529 education savings program, including market research and competitive analysis, marketing and advertising, and product development. The Intern will assist with enhancing and promoting a new tool that enables friends and family of current account owners to contribute to the savings of those they love. The Intern will also work on special projects to help grow distribution. The Intern may also gain exposure to interesting public policy issues related to higher education financing. Fixed Income Product Management Intern The Fixed Income Product Management Summer Intern will focus on the fixed income markets as well as understanding our business development strategy. Product Management serves a dual role of partnering with distribution and investments to help craft business strategy and positioning for fixed income services in all channels around the world. As a member of Fixed Income Product Management, the Summer Intern will work closely with Product Directors and the team to support them in all aspects of their business. This will include conducting competitive and performance analyses, generating business development reports and preparing presentations. The Intern will also work with the managers on special projects with potential for significant business impact. The program provides students with opportunities to learn about fixed income asset management, business development and client service, as well as the opportunity to develop their communication skills. Request for Proposal (RFP) Intern The RFP team develops responses to requests for proposals from prospective and existing clients looking to hire asset managers, provides updates to consultant databases regarding our firm and products, and works closely with the sales, marketing, and investment teams to ensure strong product messaging. The RFP Summer Intern will work closely with the RFP team to support them in all aspects of their business. This will include the organization and continued maintenance of our content management system, which entails creating new and editing existing responses to proposals; updating our product language in consultant databases and in quarterly sample RFPs; and information gathering and organization of content held within our fund prospectuses. The Intern will also work with the team on special projects with potential for significant business impact. The program provides students with opportunities to learn about the new business generation process within both the retail and institutional distribution channels, and our product offerings.
