Please take some time to share, attend and learn more about the NEAR ACT. There is an action THIS WEEKEND around this act. Please help push the Mayor to make sure this act is funded!!

We WILL #TakeBackOurStreets from intra-community violence AND over-policing.

Meet us at Congress Heights Metro Station at 1PM and we will march to the 7th District Police Station. 

We DEMAND Mayor Bowser and the DC Council FULLY FUND the NEAR Act and #DivestInPolice.

WE DEMAND THAT MAYOR BOWSER AND THE DC COUNCIL DIVEST FROM THE POLICE AND INVEST IN TRANSFORMATIVE SAFETY

WE ASK THAT OUR COMMUNITY STAND WITH US AS WE DIVEST FROM PUNISHMENT AND INVEST IN OUR OWN SELF-DETERMINATION. 

JOIN THE MOVEMENT FOR BLACK LIVES AS WE DIVEST FROM THE POLICE AND INVEST IN SANCTUARY FOR BLACK PEOPLE AND ALL PEOPLE. 

DIVEST FROM POLICE, INVEST IN THE NEAR ACT

We demand a fully-funded NEAR Act, empowering neighborhoods to ensure their safety 

Fund and implement community led initiatives to prevent violence and harassment 

Redirect money away from incarceration and policing, toward social programs and conflict mediation

Transform our approach to crime prevention to examine structural causes rather than symptoms
