The Highway Capacity Software faithfully implements methods and procedures documented in the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM). It can perform both planning and operational level analyses for surface streets, including intersections, freeways, arterials, etc. The underlying HCS model utilizes a multi-million dollar worth of traffic engineering research and a significant peer review process both at the research level and TRB committee level for HCM adoption.

The HCM uses a macroscopic approach to model traffic on the surface streets. As such, the use of HCS requires relatively fewer inputs to be collected and time to be spent on modeling and calibrating the facilities. This capability brings an economic aspect for the users to model traffic and predict a variety of performance measures for defined alternatives.

It has been over 35 years that HCS faithfully implements methods in the HCM. When any updates become available for HCM, the McTrans team implements the updates and releases a newer version of HCS. HCS enables its users to access the latest updates and ensure that they use the latest methods in the HCM. Currently, about 15,000 users worldwide are using HCS!

As the underlying HCS/HCM method, the macroscopic traffic simulation can perform a multi-time period analysis, expanding the range of study to 24 hours. The multi-time period analysis capability enables modeling congestion and the queues on arterials and freeways that stretch beyond peak periods. This feature brings an additional level of accuracy in predicting performance measures in relatively congested areas.

We are famous for providing support to our customers in an expedited way. Our customers only need to let us know their questions or where they stopped in their analyses, and the McTrans HCM Subject Matter Expert (SME) team will get back to them near-instantly to provide help and support. McTrans currently has a group of half a dozen HCM subject matter experts, some serving at the TRB Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service, which oversees HCM content. Some have devoted more than a decade to contribute to the national-level research projects developing methods for HCM.

MultiTrans 4 Freelance provides access to the basic functionalities necessary for a freelance translator to perform translation not working from a corporate network. This stand-alone edition of MultiTrans 4 includes the ability to build and import TextBase Translation Memories and TermBases of an unlimited size and uses the Translation Agent within Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Corel Wordperfect.

Unlike the Expert edition, the Freelance edition can only be installed on a computer not connected to a domain, and cannot connect to TextBase TMs or TermBases hosted on a MultiTrans 4 Server. This version of MultiTrans also does not include the Analysis Agent.

This is the best cost benefits option for someone not working as part of a team who still want to perform the art of translation by seeing the context, while cutting the time wasted at aligning documents and translating over again past translations.

Full featured edition for advanced freelance translators. Includes TextBase TM and TermBase management, all search functions, Translation Agent within Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, PowerPoint, analysis and reporting. Can work within a corporate network, and also has the option of connecting to and working with MultiTrans 4 Server. Available on subscription for freelancers, this option is the same as the MultiTrans 4 Expert, available with or without the ability to connect to MultiTrans 4 Server modules.

SecureTrack supports LDAP external authentication of users, when installed on Red Hat or CentOS Linux, or on TufinOS (Tufin appliance). Microsoft Active Directory 2000, 2003, 2008,2008, 2012, and 2016 are supported. SecureTrack uses TLS 1.2 to negotiate SSL/TLS with the LDAPS server for authentication, and uses LDAP version 3 as the protocol to perform administrative binds and retrieve attributes.

When each LDAP user logs in for the first time, SecureTrack automatically generates a matching local user account with default settings according to user type (Domain admin or User) as set by group membership. For Users, default settings include no device permissions. An Administrator (in the Multi-Domain scheme: a Super Administrator) must then assign permissions for the domains.

The Transcribertranscription tool provides a friendly and quick interface fortranscription work (note to avoid confusion: ISIP developed an unrelated, similar tool, which is also named Transcriber). We have modified Transcriber here at ICSI to meet the needof the Meeting Recorder project fortranscription of multiple speakers recorded on multiple audiochannels. The changes are described below. This software isavailable at ftp.icsi.berkeley.edu in thepub/speech/download/channeltrans directory (clickhere to go to that directory).

The ICSI Meeting Transcripts corpus released by the Linguistic DataConsortium in 2004 uses the MRT file format for transcripts. Theversion of the channeltrans tool available for download as describedabove uses a different file format, which is a very slightly modifiedversion of the original file format of the Transcriber tool.Switching Playback Between Audio FilesA "MultiWav" menu has been added that allows the user to switchplayback between a number of audio files (which are all assumed to betime synchronized). This menu is shown in the screenshot below.During playback, the name of the audio file being played isdisplayed in the status line at the bottom of the Transcriber window.

In our Meeting Recorder project, we record each participant ontheir own microphone; in other words, each participant is associatedwith an audio channel. Each audio channel is recorded to a separatefile, and we use the MultiWav menu to switch between the files.Usually transcribers listen to a file which contains a mix of all thechannels (with channel volumes adjusted for a more equal mix).

While audio is playing, the name of the audio file used will bedisplayed at the end of the status line at the bottom of the progam'swindow (the window may need to be resized so that the status line isvisible). So if you are unsure what audio file is being played, checkthe status line.

The green segmentation bar displayed under the waveform in thescreenshot above shows the transcribed speech. Vertical divisions inthe segmentation bar mark utterance boundaries. As the screen layoutsuggests, those vertical divisions are drawn on the same time scale asthe waveform.

The modified version of Transcriber allows multiple channels oftranscription, each with its own segmentation bar. At ICSI, N+1segmentation bars are used for a meeting with N participants, with one bar being used as a "default" for transcribing sounds such asbackground noises or unidentified speech. This is shown in thescreenshot below, which illustrates the transcription of a meeting with fourparticipants.

In the screenshot, the currently selected segment, which starts withthe text "Which", is in the third segmentation bar fromthe top. The currently selected segment is highlighted in both thecorresponding segmentation bar and in the text editing window abovethe waveform display. The text editing window only shows the textassociated with the channel of the currently selected segment.

The selected segmentation bar in the screenshot corresponds to channel1. The two bars above it correspond to the "default" channel andchannel 0, and the two bars below it correspond to channels 2 and 3.The name of the current channel is displayed in the "statusline" at the bottom of the window. The "Channel labels..." dialog inthe Options menu can be used change the channel names displayed inthe status line (e.g., to meeting participants' names). This dialog is shownbelow.

The red and blue bars under the waveform display represent theSection and Turn segmentation levels which are not functional in ourmodified version of Transcriber. (Neither is the Backgroundsegmentation level.) This is because we are not using them in ourtranscription work and it would have been significant extra codingwork to make them function properly in the new multi-channelmodel.
