All in all, it was great to challenge ourselves and get a sense of our limits. I am very eager to see if more folks would be willing to give this a try next year. I, for one, am not planning to do the 50-mile version again. Pretty sure. I think.
Creation and management of two of our most popular features, Places and Route Modifiers, has moved from within PC*MILER to ALK Content Tools. Users can continue to save and quickly access frequently geo-coded business or stop locations when route planning, as well as modify routing preferences by avoiding or favoring road segments. With migration of these management features to the web, this content no longer needs to be manually backed up or moved locally between versions. In addition, it can be more seamlessly shared across multiple users on a company account.
Located in ALK Content Tools, customers can enhance their custom Places by drawing a boundary polygon around a site perimeter and adding truck entry and exit gates. As variance between street addresses and actual entry and exit locations may differ greatly, Site Manager can dramatically improve the accuracy of mile and cost calculations, directly affecting rates, billing, and driver pay. Equally important, a defined site provides more granular turn-by-turn directions to help keep drivers safe and alleviate stress when approaching and departing a destination.
PC*MILER runs on Microsoft Windows, IBM AS/400 (iSeries), and mainframe computers, is also available as a web-based application, and can be seamlessly integrated with transportation and supply chain management systems. Some services mentioned may require additional licensing.

As stated above, this is both something new and but a compilation of everything I've done before. There will be easy runs, speed-work, threshold runs, and long sessions. Wrap it all together into three overarching blocks and we have a cohesive plan to run my fastest 10-miler ever. This will be broken down over the next few months as follows:
That's it. The overall programming is fairly simple but well structured. The actual work is in having high quality workouts each and every day, eating well, sleeping better, and keeping behaviors in check (absolutely zero alcohol). The funny thing about drinking is once you stop you are less incentivized to drink again. It's easier to drink every Friday than it is to resume drinking after a long block of not. I enjoy waking up rested EVERY day. Nothing limiting me except myself. I encourage everyone participating in the programming to do the same.

As I\u2019ve said many times in the past, the only thing that matters for getting better or accomplishing anything are the behaviors and habits you develop in accomplishing that thing. The end-state may or may not happen, but instilling values/habits in the process will create long term success regardless of end-state.

For details regarding the update to PC*MilerRail version 29.1, refer to the PC*Miler website. Updates to PC*Miler are the exclusive decision of Trimble MAPS and are not dictated or controlled by CSXT.
With the updated PC*MilerRail version 29.1, rail mileage may change for particular routes. This can affect the price calculation for customers using highway-diesel fuel (HDF) based fuel surcharge. Please be alert to such changes on your freight bill.
Effective June 1, 2024, Union Pacific will upgrade from ALK Technologies' PC*Miler Rail Version 29.2 software to Version 30.0. Union Pacific will continue to rely on PC*Miler Rail Fuel Surcharge router (FNII) to calculate its fuel surcharge mileage. This new software version incorporates the vendor's system enhancements, Industry Reference File changes and data additions/deletions/changes. This version upgrade will be applicable to UP local and interline prices containing a mileage HDF fuel surcharge.
In the heyday of the big bands, everything was different. A new song would get published and multiple bands and singers would rush to record a version of it. Even when a song was written by a particular band, it was not long before others were doing their own take on it.
This record is mostly about well-crafted ensemble work with constantly changing groupings of phrases and instruments so that it never gets repetitive or boring despite the simple theme, something not uncommon in a Jerry Gray arrangement.
I think the best solo on the record would be from Bobby Hackett, whose turn with the cornet was extremely well done. Some players were known for their style or technical skill, but Bobby Hackett was all about tone quality. The cornet is, by its nature, a little darker in its sound than the similar trumpet and Hackett got a simply gorgeous tone out of it that was both full and mellow and which stood out among his peers.
As an interesting aside, a page on the website of the American Music Research Center at the University of Colorado, Boulder, makes the claim that the Glenn Miller/Jerry Gray collaboration resulted in more top-10 records in a shorter period of time than any other musical team in history.
Both recordings are from the YouTube pages of MusicProf78, whose 65,000+ subscribers are treated to a never-ending treasury of old recordings that range from the earliest in recorded sound into the 1960s.

I mean the costume was great but Selina was ugly as hell as she looks too much like a guy plus she was shaved bald, i mean i loved the graphic novel Year One since i was 14 when i bought it but i hated Miller's manly looking bald hooker as Catwoman is one of my boyhood comic character crushes but i dislike Miller's version.
I just didn't like that he had made her a prostitute who almost idly decides to be Catwoman. I think her strength in the Batman mythology lies more in how her life is the working class, somehow even more twisted mirror to Bruce's - it's not her sexuality that is the main draw or appeal to Bruce but rather the fact that she understands him and disarmingly so.
Agreed. Frank Miller thinks he can mess with whatever that comes in his crazy mind. Even the Batman and Superman drawings are so ugly. I give him the credit for bringing the dark tones and new inspirations to Batman for what'd make him truly a Dark Knight, but most of his work is just ridiculous and overrated.
The Dark Knight Returns (alternatively titled Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) is a 1986 four-issue comic book miniseries starring Batman, written by Frank Miller, illustrated by Miller and Klaus Janson, with color by Lynn Varley, and published by DC Comics. It tells an alternative story of Bruce Wayne, who at 55 years old returns from a decade of retirement to fight crime while facing opposition from the Gotham City police force and the United States government. The story also features the return of classic foes Two-Face and the Joker, and culminates in a confrontation with Superman, who is now a pawn of the government.
The Dark Knight Returns is widely considered to be one of the greatest and most influential Batman stories ever made, as well as one of the greatest works of comic art in general, and has been noted for helping reintroduce a darker and more mature-oriented version of the character (and superheroes in general) to pop culture during the 1980s. Various elements of the series have since been incorporated into depictions of Batman in other media, while a direct animated adaptation of the story, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, was released as a two-part film across 2012 and 2013.
