Beijing Photo Night #02 @ Dada Bar Beijing - Tuesday, 17 Sept, 2013

The 2nd session of Beijing Photo Night at Dada Bar will present a mix of Chinese and foreign photographers working in China, focused on reportage work. 

Tibet-born veteran Chinese photographer Mo Yi will present his signature cinematic images seemingly shot from the hip, capturing China's phenomenal change in recent decades. Go Takayama, a young Japanese photographer based in Beijing, will show his on-going personal project documenting the resettlement of a Kyrgyz Chinese family in an urbanizing Xinjiang. 

European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) photographer How Hwee Young, who is from Singapore, will screen her story on families being moved en masse to make way for China's massive North-South Water Diversion project. 

American-Chinese photographer Jeffrey Lau will show his project on special needs orphans in northern China. 

American photographer Michael Christopher Brown, who recently joined the prestigious Magnum Photo Agency and the subject of an HBO documentary on his Libya work, will take us on a road trip around China with his iPhone pictures shot on his travels around the country driving a Jin B van -- while Chinese artist Chen Zhe leads us on an inward journey with her introspective, award-winning work on self-harm. In their absence, Brown's and Chen's work will be presented by Sim Chi Yin, a Beijing-based Singaporean photographer with VII Photo Agency who has curated the session. 

A few other photographers will also be showing their work.
