Title: Business/Data Analyst- Healthcare
Location: Montgomery, AL (Onsite)
Type: 6+ Month Contract
Interview: Onsite -local candidates only(In-person)
Position Summary:
The Alabama Medicaid Agency is seeking two experienced Business/Data Analysts with a strong foundation in data analytics, research, and visualization. This is an intermediate-level position, ideal for professionals who can independently perform data analysis to support the legislature and the commissioner’s office with actionable insights.
Candidates must bring more than just experience in business analysis or data management—they must possess a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in tools like SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel, and the ability to communicate findings through compelling data stories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform independent data analysis, reporting, and visualization to support agency decision-making.
- Create and deliver annual and statistical reports, dashboards, projections, and forecasts.
- Conduct quality measure validation and support regulatory data submissions.
- Perform cost and profitability analysis to guide budgeting and planning.
- Integrate and analyze data from multiple systems and sources.
- Work closely with leadership to understand business needs and deliver insights aligned with strategic goals.
- Explain analytical methodology, visual design choices, and storytelling rationale clearly during presentations.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in data analytics (preferably in healthcare, insurance, or finance).
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Strong data interpretation and research capabilities.
- Strong with the Data analysis and Data visualization.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Computer Science).
- Excellent problem-solving, storytelling, and communication skills—especially the ability to explain analytical processes and visualization decisions clearly.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Public Health, Statistics, or related field.
- Familiarity with SAS or other statistical tools.
- Experience with management reporting and regulatory compliance in a government or Medicaid environment.
