What are your definitions of your religion and what do you call it?
Each of us practices something just a little different, have our own
ideas and rely heavier on one aspect than another. Can you explain what
you believe?

Good Evening and Merry Meet

I'm glad to see that we are getting some ppl here to start some
discussions. Although this one has been here a while, I thought that we
might start this as a way of introducing ourselves.
I am ImMappam the manager of the group. Although manager is kind of a
big word for such a small group. I own the sponsoring e-store Alexander
and Things Magic Shop. That really wasn't a plug only to let you know
for future reference.
I personal path is kind of mixed. I am a witch, more earth energy
practioner, with backgrounds in Wicca and Sioux Shaman. Although I come
from a family strong within coven life, I am a solitary practitioner.
The reason for being solitary is simple, I live in an area that would
find my practice unacceptable and although my community knows, likes
and respects me, they would turn on me in a heartbeat if they knew my
religious beliefs. I do not lie to them, we just talk about other
things. Rural life has it's advantages.
So, that is kind of me, happy little old crone in the country. LOL
gives you quite a visual when you look at it that way.
So who is next? Give us something that will help us know you a bit.
Blessed Be my Friends and may your sun always shine and the moon always
light your path.

I have to agree with you on the fact that you just can't tell everyone about your faith. I find it hard to let people in on it for fear of what they will think. I live in a primary Christian based city/village and I know that I'd see eggs on my home or maybe even worse. This is from the burning times when a witch was a bad thing, not that they really were but the church made them out to be and made most people conform because they didn't want to be torchered the rest of their lives. Now, quite some time later the words witch or Pagan are in reference to those that don't believe in God. How it all got so twisted is sad.  Lucky for me I've been shedding the blinders for awhile in search of the truth. I was a Christian for my whole life, I even taught Sunday School (very unconventionally).  I am a biker and never wanted to be a fake, so I was always myself, often in a black dress or black leather jacket. I am a good person with a  loving heart and that has to show through. Anyway, I stopped reading the Bible when I realized how much of it had been adapted to what ever King, court or leader had wanted to change. Again looking for truth, not a twisted version. I started learning mediumship, I learned to meditate and listen to my inner voice, boy did that open me up. I believe that Jesus was a man who was sent by God to teach us good, a loving God not a God of fear and damnation. I have always believed in Karma, reincarnation and things of Pagan ways, I just didn't know what Pagan was, there was always this question about Paganism and a dark shadow cast upon it as well as the pentagram and other symbols, Gods and Goddess'. My spirit and guides led me to finding Paganism in my search for the truth. I read a little here and there I found the earliest religions and the closest to Jesus used magic, more veils were shed.    I found this wonderful class on Wicca and jumped in with my b/f and took it, we both feel we've grown from it and understand life alot better now. Alot of what we are learning is just confirmations to me that I'm in the right place. I am a healer, a medium in training, a witch and a complete Mutt!  I know my family will be more excepting of my path than my community so I keep it hushed. Thanx for asking!
Blessed be,
Kim

I was a sunday school teacher too for about 8 years. Church librarian
too. They turned on me because I got a divorce from an abusive husband.
LOL they would have a field day if they knew my life now.

I know that my mother is pleased. She passed away when I was 18, so
very many years ago, and my father who is still a practicing shaman
just would prefer that I come back to the reservation to practice,
teach and fulfil the family heritage. That life just isn't for me but I
love the fact that he is uncompromising about his wish for me. I will
continue the traditions he has taught me wherever I am for as long as I
live.

I agree that the words of pagan and witch and so much more has gotten
all mixed up. These words have become associated with so much that is
bad, well we were taught that they were bad from our youth. Witches
eating little children in Hansel & Gretel and Sleeping beauty, poor
girl and that nasty old ugly witch. I think that when I realized that
all this energy, power was available to everyone, was created and
doesn't disappear but can be changed and directed, is when it really
became real to me. Then learning how to use it became the task. I don't
think that any of us ever stop learning and we sure never learn
everything there is to learn.

Thank you so much for sharing. It is alway nice for me to know that
there are others out there that have had some similar experiances and
I'm sure too, that I can learn from you.

Blessed Be for our paths are guided by our own internal lights.
