We support youtube, digg, yelp, flickr, and many more - about 30
services currently.

What did we miss? What sites do you use where you can flag something
as a favorite or add your own content?

Note that we can't add each and every site out there. Some sites don't
provide user information via an API or RSS feed. We'll try and keep a
tally of all the suggestions we get and add the most requested when
possible. Post a reply here to throw in your votes! Don't be afraid to
cast your support for a service that's already mentioned.

Other than SnapFoo, I don't really use any other services but one thing that I'd like to recommend would be to put all the services in ABC order because they'd be alot easier to find that way-- maybe you've got some order thin goin? I'm not sure.

I just reorganized this page today. Look for this and other new features in a day or two.

I seen other services pull the Gtalk Custom Status Messages. Thought
that was cool.

Picasa is actually ready, but we've had some technical issues running
it and have an email thread going with the picasa team. Maybe this
week? We'll see. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh man, I have been sitting on signing up with www.locr.com but I
finally did just now and it is great. Its a Geotagging website, but
the best part is they have an application for Windows Mobile phones
that will Geotag the photo and then you can upload it to the site.
Very cool.

check it out. They have an RSS feed for each user but its just the
title of the photo.

Only got two pics up, but both taken with my Mogul.

Prior to this I used to use Shozu to get photos onto Picasa but no
more!

I'm thinking that, at some point, the number of possible places out there is going to run away from us. Maybe the ability to just add RSS and choose what kind of thing it is (a blog, photos, videos, whatever) would be more useful than us trying to write interfaces to every possible resource out there...

Agree with you 100 Percent.

Can Iminta get alone with www.scribd.com?

Looks like it. We'll add it to the list. We try and add one or two new
services a week. We're in the process of reworking our navigation (the
filters) so that it doesn't get too crowded as we add more and more
services... stay tuned.

I use wists.com to keep track of things I want to buy; it'd be cool to
have that integrated with iminta. When I go to my wists page
(wists.com/cat) there's no rss icon in my addy bar, but there IS an
rss link shown toward the top of the webpage itself.

Hi Cat,

I've added wist to our (growing!) list of sites to support. Thanks for the feedback!

At this point, we are going to need to revamp our site a bit as the list of sites we could support is potentially huge - we could add a hundred and barely scratch the surface. So what we need to do now is reorganize a bit so that it's not overwhelming. Then we can add a whole bunch of new sites and keep things simple. Stay tuned, and thanks again for the suggestion.

Agree that the navigation needs some help. IMHO, the fact that you
actually list of the services is really helpful for someone like me
who can't even remember where he's a member of.

Two services I'd love to see added to the mess:
Tumblr
Newsvine

Cheers!

Hey Gang,

We'll be adding a few new services in the next week or so. Tumblr is a
tricky one as they re-post things from twitter and the like, so we
need to do some normalization to keep from duplicating content.

As for the navigation, we're working on some other things right now so
that's going to have to wait a little while longer. Consequently,
we're being picky about the services we add to keep things from
getting too crowded. Thanks for all the feedback and stay tuned.

Tumblr reposts things from Twitter?? Its a microblogging site, e.g.
amyers.tumblr.com

Yeah. If you click "customize", you'll get your account settings:

http://www.tumblr.com/customize

and in there you can pull in stuff from delicious, digg, youtube,
flickr, twitter, vimeo, etc. Since Iminta also pulls in this stuff, we
have to de-dupe any content coming from Tumblr. It's not a huge deal,
we just haven't tackled it yet.

Are you talking about where you can add feeds? I guess that could be a problem, wonder if there is a RSS feed for just blog entries. Doubt it-- since these other RSS feeds are imported as entries.

Not sure. I've been seeing a lot of requests for Tumblr though, so I
think we need to figure it out regardless. Hopefully we'll have a
solution in place in a week or so. It's not a problem that only exists
with Tumblr. There are other services we'd like to support that also
aggregate feeds.

Greetings all,

It's been a while since I last posted here on our work at Iminta, so I
thought I'd give a quick update.

We launched several new changes today (see:
http://blog.iminta.com/2008/07/16/tumblr-plurk-new-navigation-no-more-private-beta/)
but the two things relevant to this thread were the additions of Plurk
and Tumblr.

Plurk is pretty straight forward - just add your username and you're
all set.

Tumblr is the same but there are some special things to note:

* we don't pull in the feeds you source into Tumblr. So if you're
pulling Digg or Twitter into Tumblr, we won't get that stuff - you'll
need to set up Iminta's account page to pull that stuff in here. This
is so we don't create duplicates.
* Tumblr items are categorized (on Tumblr) and those categories will
be applied on Iminta
* If you want to pull your Iminta feed into Tumblr, you should exclude
Tumblr from the feed. See the blog post linked above for step-by-step
details on that.

The other big changes are that we've reworked the navigation a bit and
the account setup page to accommodate more services (so we can start
adding more) and we've removed the private beta, so you can invite as
many friends as you like.

Have fun!
