Whenever the laptop sleeps the location of tools and workspace are scrambled into new locations upon wakeup (see before and after sleep images). Driving me crazy.... every time I try to do anything I have to search around for my pallets and tools. Each time things are moved into new and different locations like a game of hide and seek.

I have a Wacom Cintiq pro 24 as my 2nd monitor and I have encountered issues between adobe/ apple/ wacom drivers many times. This doesn't happen with the same monitor connected to my imac and it only happens with adobe software (illustrator primarily).

"Adjust and arrange displays. After you connect an external display or projector, use Displays preferences in System Preferences to set how the displays are arranged, turn screen mirroring on or off, and make other adjustments to color, resolution, and more."

Since you mentioned that the issue only happens with Adobe software, we'd suggest continuing to work with the developer for further assistance. If you need help getting back in touch with the developer, please check out this link: How to contact an app developer

I've tried every combination of making my 2nd monitor the main display, or extended and locking my apps to different windows but none of that changes anything. No part of what is on my 2nd screen is stretching on to my 1st screen.

This isn't the exact same thing that happens when my laptop sleeps or restarts (menus and windows moves to random locations on either screen) but it seems odd that moving the display's position moves things on the 2nd monitor doesn't it?

Thanks. Adobe's help is absolutely and entirely useless. Just hoping someone on here might have found a fix. I suspect it is a combination of wonky Wacom drivers and adobe. Usually that is the case. Wacom says the issue is related to "huge memory leaks" from Apple but I don't know what that means. Adobe says to reinstall the software (for any issue of any kind... even when I just couldn't find a tool in the menu).

However, if I do exactly the same thing (sleep, wait a while for things to lock and be well and good asleep) and then I fold close the laptop's screen I get a different result. When I wake it the menus are scattered all over the place.

open both projects you're currently working in adobe illustrator, and drag out the tap, readjust them and press Ctrl+0 to set the tap content to the center and then you can start to edit your project freely side by side.

I am using Illustrator cc 2020 on an early 2013 Macbook Pro with a Retina display running OS Mojave. I have an old 30" Apple Cinema Display that I connect when at home and everything with that works fine. When I travel and use the Macbook display I can't see the entire illustrator window. Only about half of my workspace. I tried scaling the display resolution in system preferences. I can get to the sides of the workspace and drag in but I cannot get to the bottom. This makes Illustrator useless. I have searched the web and the illustrator community and am surprised i cannot find an answer. Can anyone help?

If that's the case, in the upper left of your window, click on the third circular button from the left to maximize your window to your screen. Your entire Workspace should now fit in your screen. See screenshot below.

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and Illustrator will recreate new folders with default settings.

This may be a related question. I have legacy Adobe apps on my computer that were not deleted when I installed new versions. There may even be files on my computer dating back to the 1990s when I started using Photoshop and Illustrator. I have the CC package now an want to know if it is safe to delete the legacy applications and how. Here is a screen shot of my adobe apps:
