In this paper, we propose the examination of spur mark evidence on inkjet-printed documents. Spur marks are tool marks created by the spur gears in the paper conveyance system of many inkjet printers. The relationship between printouts and printers were investigated by comparing the spur marks found on printed documents with reference spur marks sampled from known printers. The comparison was based on two characteristics of spur marks: pitch and mutual distance. These characteristics extracted the geometric features of spur marks and provided information on the type of spur gears and their location in the paper conveyance system. The spur marks on a printout matched the reference spur marks within three percent of the measured values. Spur marks were considered to be effective class characteristics to identify certain brands of inkjet printers since spur gears are used in many types of these machines.

As one of the deepest holes in South San Francisco, McCarthy self-performed two 20-hour concrete pours (11,000 cubic yards total) to complete the mat foundation system for the structure. Just wondering if any of you with thin-skinned horses have tried the roller spurs - either the ones with the ball-shaped roller, or the fat rowels. I know a few trainers who swear by rowel spurs as the roll over the skin rather than pulling at it like a typical spur might.
I would say I am very very sorry this happened to ----- horse!!! Further say - I did not notice any 4" rub/spur marks when I mounted and dismounted the two times I rode him. Explain what you did see as you have in your post here.
You have not told me what level your horse is schooling or whether he has experienced any recent health or weight changes or if you have purchased a new saddle. I recently dealt with a rider who wore a small Prince of Wales spur that left bald spots on her horse. That horse was suffering from health issues that made his skin sensitive and he had excess weight from his previous situation. The rider had to temporarily use a spur that was not legal for competition. We also addressed her leg position as well as pressure to correct the problem permanently. The horse lost excess weight, and eventually there was no longer a problem using the original, smaller spur.
Sometimes when a horse and rider begin working on collection or are introduced to a double bridle, communication issues can arise regarding contact and throughness, putting the horse behind the leg, which might then be addressed by spur rather than the contact. In this case, make sure that the front door is left open (give the horse space in front) so that energy flows freely forward from back to front, and examine how and why you are riding with spurs.
