I've seen some similar posts but nothing that has exactly what I have and the full solution so I'm trying again. I know CS6 is old and outdated but I use Bridge/Camera Raw and Photoshop for casual photo editing.

I have a brand new Dell PC running Windows 11 Pro. When I attempt to do a full install I get issues with PxHIpa64.sys or Px Engine Device Driver for 64-bit Windows Rovi Corporation. The later issue I resolved by not installing Adobe Flash Builder.
Do I need to just install using admin privileges? Or, do I also need to take memory integrity off while I do the install? Can I turn it back on after? If I just install PS6, Bridge and InDesign will that remove this driver requirement?
Okay. I FINALLY figured it out. Apparently some install files from the "bad" installs were hanging around in the registry file. Once I went in and manually delete all the adobe entries it worked great using compatibility and as admin. I'm up and running. Phew.
Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10 or Windows 11
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions
-also -productkb/global/create-local-administrator-account-windows.html
Using either compatibility mode or run as admin gives me the following error now: Installer failed to Initialize. Please download Adobe Suppor Advisor to detect the problem. I tried that but it comes up with nothing anymore. I have the full file folder on my desktop. Its weird to me that all of a sudden I can't do an install of any type now - not even not using compatibility or admin rights. Uh oh...I'm regressing instead of progressing.
I read lots about that and it doesn't look to solve the problem. What is weird is that prior to the first install, I did NOT have to use AAM. There is nothing in that listing that suggests this will solve my problem. I even found an old site that housed the CS6 install package and redownloaded that and tried to do an install, but still the same issue. So, it must be something that Win 11 is blocking I'm thinking now. I'll try to see if I can get something there....but any other thoughts from folks would be appreciated. I'll holler with my conclusions.
I too had the Windows 11 refusing to reboot after installing CS6. Based on what I found here, I used Hiren's PE Boot CD (burn to a USB these days) and was able to search the Windows registry for ALL instances of "Adobe" and deleted those. I also searched Windows for all instances of PxHIpa64.sys and PxHIpa64.dll and deleted those. After drawing a circle of salt on the floor and offering a couple incantations I again attempted a restart from Hirens to Windows 11 and ... IT WORKED! I thought for certain that I would be reinstalling Windows this week. Thankfully all my Windows apps are in good shape. I suppose it's Elements or Adobe Cloud from here on out (hint: I can run CS6 in a virtual machine just fine, but all the new features!).
Recently I had my laptop stolen and had to replace it. I'm now trying to install my software on the new machine. I got a bunch of errors during installation - some programs installed and some didn't - and I kept brute forcing through installation one program at a time until I thought I had Photoshop installed. But when I went to open it (after adjusting the graphics settings so the program displays at a reasonable resolution on this monitor), and try to create a new project on a blank canvas, this is what I see.
Hi there,
Are you using a Wacom tablet? What exact error are you seeing in Photoshop?
Photoshopp CS4 is a really old version of Photoshop and older apps are not tested on newer operating system because of different architecture. You might face many incompatibility issues with it. You need to upgrade Photoshop to the most recent version which is Photoshop 2020.

I'm a casual user (got the program as a gift). I've uploaded a screenshot a reply below. It's an HP Spectre x360 2 in 1 running windows 10. It should have more than enough power to run this program without an issue.
This software ran fine on my previous laptop, an ASUS Q551LN with similarly high specs. The only reason I had to replace the computer was that it was stolen, unfortunately. That's why my expectation here is that it seems like there should be some way to make this software perform properly.
Just to clarify, this problem might not have anything to do with the power and specs of the computer. There's no question that even a low-end computer today exceeds the system requirements for Photoshop CS4.
The screen shot looks more like a possible incompatibility with current graphics hardware. This isn't uncommon, because Photoshop CS4 was written for the Windows and Mac operating systems that were available 12 years ago when CS4 was released. But both operating systems have changed dramatically since then, and so the old code in Photoshop CS4 may not line up well with the version of Windows that runs a new computer today.
If we're lucky, someone will know of a way to change a setting somewhere that might get CS4 to work on a new laptop. But if not, just be aware that there might not be a solution. Because the one thing we know of for sure is that there won't be any more updates to Photoshop CS4 itself. If you ask Adobe what the update to CS4 is, they'll tell you it's the current version of Phototshop.
Im nots ure im in the correct forum or place to ask this but after have talked to costumer support in chat and got the most un-helpfull support and i cant find an email to Adobe to ask i turn to you and see if you can help me.
But in my account i can not fint that specific program anywhere? the only thing i found was Adobe Rush that seemed to me be some sort of replacement or name change, so i could download it and tried for s small bit and it seemed to work.
All that is fine, but the above questions still stay with me, why is a big company so hard to talk to? when i have paid a pretty big sum of money for a program the interface to find what program i have is so cluttered me as a casual user is lost...
Rush is a greatly scaled down version of Premiere Pro. In fact, I think you can open Rush projects in Pro. Rush is designed to be a simple editor for primarily producing videos for social media and its primary platform is mobile devices.
Premiere Elements is a full-featured consumer video editor. It's designed to work with a variety of consumer video formats and includes a large library of effects, transitions, music and graphics. It is not in competition with Rush nor is either program a replace

Beyond that I'm nor sure what you're asking. I've using Premiere Elements since 2004 and I've been so pleased with the program and the company that I've been working free of charge on this forum helping people out for 15 years. So I don't know why you're having such a hard time with the company or its products. Fortunately, there is no shortage of alternative programs out there, and it should not be hard to find one that meets your needs.
Well my new costumer experience was fine untill i needed to re download the Program and couldent find it on my accont page under programs, maybe i did something wrong but ive done the same thing for years with other programs and thats never been a problem.
So from my perspective i cant find the program i bought in a straigforward way, maybe its just me.
Then the support person i chatted with was so rushed and was not interested in my explaining what my problem was he just wanted to tak over my desktop to install the program and then leave, and when i said hold on can i ask a question so i learn instead of being hand-held and have to ask for same help next time, insted i wanted to learn..
So to see i understand, if i want to do very simple editing with a good program then i should invest some time in Elements (have standard version not Pro) and see how i like it, and maybe go to Rush only if i get stuck and want something even simpler?
With Rush you shoot the video on your phone, edit on your phone (or tablet) and post directly to your target site such as YouTube. In other words, shoot and post a video in a hurried "rush". You can also open the Rush project on a desk or laptop computer.
Part of the Rush functionality requires the clips be stored on Adobe servers. That's what makes them "multi platform". The editing done on the phone, tablet and computer is synchronized by connection to the "cloud".
Once the videographer has "rushed" their content to YouTube. They may want to polish it or add embellishment beyond the capabilities of one of the Rush device applications. Therefore, Adobe made it so the project can be opened in Premiere Pro. Once worked on in Pro, the project can no longer be opened in any of the Rush applications.
There are reasons that Adobe provides free trials. Among them is for people with cameras newer than the software. I'm quite sure you new drone JPEG pictures will work. Don't know about RAW. For video, 5.4k is outside the HD and UHD boxes. I may not work and you'll have to test it on a free trial.
I have previously purchased Premiere Elements and didn't use it much, although recently I need to install it and when looking in Creative Cloud Desktop to download it, it simply cannot be found.
