Hi, I'm having trouble changing the default pdf viewer on my samsung s21 fe. I've tried going to "Settings > apps > choose default apps" but there's no pdf viewer option I've also tried doing "settings > apps > free adblocker browser (the browser I'm using) > defaults" but also no option for pdf viewer any ideas on how to change my default pdf viewer?

Now, tap the Home button > Swipe up from your Home screen > Samsung (folder) > My Files > Documents > Select a .pdf file > A series of app options should appear at the bottom of the screen > Tap the preferred app, then select 'Always'. Let me know if this helps.

I see, @BloopX2 . In this case, I would suggest resetting your apps preferences from the phone Settings> Apps> Menu (3 dots top right)> Reset app preferences. Then try to open a .pdf document and select the app as your default.

This should cause your device to prompt you again for the app with which to open the file. This worked for me to reset the default PDF app when I set it to Samsung Notes by accident. This will probably reset any situation where the app in question is the default though. (Please note that my phone is not in English so the exact names may differ.)

Whenever I try to open a pdf, Microsoft 365 takes over and asks me to sign in before it opens the file. I tried changing the default app to no avail. I go to settings>apps>Adobe Acrobat>Set as default but the next screen doesn't say "set as default". It just has a switch "Open supported links". I have no idea what this means. Same for when I go to Microsoft 365. I tried turning that switch off on Microsoft 365 but it still insisted on being the default viewer.

@WatsekaVince: As a workaround, please swipe up from your Home screen > Samsung (folder ) > My Files > Documents > Press and hold on a .pdf file > Tap the 3 dots in the bottom right > Open with > Select Samsung Notes PDF viewer. Alternatively, open the Notes app, tap the PDF option in the top right, and select the file from here.

You also have the option of heading to Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Reset app preferences, then follow the steps laid out above. After selected 'Open with' and choosing Samsung Notes, select 'Always' when prompted to default to this app when opening PDF files.

AndrewL's suggestion did cause me to pay more attention o the three dots and I found a quicker solution. I tapped on the three dots to the right of the pdf attached to the email. It came up with a choice between opening with "Microsoft 365" or "Device pdf viewer". I chose the later and it opened. Subsequent pdf's now open upon tapping without using the three dots. (Remember, I first followed AndrewL's instructions. This may have been a precondition to setting up the process I followed.)

I have installed Quick Support and samsung add-on, but I cannot use my mouse with the tablet. I can 'remote connect' to the tablet and use arrows on my laptop keyboard to control the device, but nothing happens when I click and/or hold.

If device users need additional troubleshooting and support from you, they may request a remote support session. During this session, you can connect directly to their device from your computer and run diagnostics or fix issues remotely.

Knox Manage supports several ways to start a remote session on a device. You can Automatically start or Ask users to start a remote session, or start a remote session through an access code.

If the device is fully managed, or fully managed with a work profile, you can start a remote session without an access code. Make sure you complete the appropriate steps under Install and enable the Knox Remote Support agent before you follow these steps.

Perform IT service or support activities to the device using this viewer. For more information about the functions of the Knox Remote Support Viewer, see Use the functions of the Knox Remote Support Viewer.

To end the session and cease remote support, instruct the device user to tap Stop on the screen, or click Disconnect in the Knox Remote Support Viewer on your computer.

Some time ago I read that pdf-viewer is now integrated in nextcloud android files app, which at that time i really appreciated cause I got rid of the other pdf viewers on android 10 (Motorola One Pure Android)

Never the less: I thought that Nextcloud Files App has integerated the PDF Viewer Plus natively in the App, so another (pdf) App installed should not be necessary to open pdfs out of Nextcloud Files App.
This works on the motorola Phone (without One Drive or Pdf Viewer Plus App) but not on Samsung Phone where if I am disabling One Drive and uninstalling Pdf Viewer Plus App the pdf simply does not open.

In addition:
If companies pay a lot of money for microsoft products e.g. Microsoft Office it sometimes makes from finance no sense to use a dual vendor strategy with microsoft and nextcloud products. Nextcloud is free but you also need e.g. support and own systems.

Agreed here. It also makes downloading pdfs so difficult. I don't want to be stuck in my browser while some file is downloading. I just want to click "download" and forget. I want to see the progress of the download in case it fails.

This is beyond annoying. The Firefox PDF viewer does not work! It produces a jumble that is totally unreadable. I'm attaching two files; the first is a pdf file downloaded and displayed in Firefox on a Windows 11 machine, the second is the same pdf downloaded and displayed on a Samsung Galaxy S6Tab tablet.

Scene Viewer is an immersive viewer that enables 3D and AR experiences from yourwebsite or Android app. It lets users of Android mobile devices easily preview, place, view, and interact with web-hosted 3D models in their environment.

Most Android browsers support Scene Viewer. Scene Viewer has been successfullyimplemented by many Google partners to reliably support 3D and AR experiences. It also powers these experiences for Google Search.

To provide for cases where either Google Play Services for AR or the Google apparen't present or the installed versions are too old, you can specify a fallbackURL that launches an alternative experience, for example, a web page, an errormessage, or a fallback experience that you have built.

To support the widest range of Android devices, use an explicit Androidintentto launch Scene Viewer. The explicit intent can be triggered from an HTML pageor a native Android app. The intent will be handled by theGoogleapp that comes pre-installed on ARCore supported Android devices.

The intent version is indicated by the version number afterarvr.google.com/scene-viewer. For example, the initial release usedversion 1.0. When newer Scene Viewer features are required, youmay launch Scene Viewer with a higher intent version corresponding with thefeatures you require.

Intent version 1.1 added support for intent:// links, which can launchdirectly into an Android app rather than to a URL. If you would like SceneViewer to guarantee that this functionality is available when launched, and failto launch otherwise, launch scene viewer with an intent tointent://arvr.google.com/scene-viewer/1.1.

false When set to false, users will not be able to scale the model in the AR experience. Scaling works normally in the 3D experience. enable_vertical_placement (optional) false (default) true When set to true, users will be able to place the model on a vertical surface. UX guidanceTo provide the best possible UX for users, we recommend that the visible callsto action convey that the user is about to enter an immersive environment.

To ensure that AR is available in Scene Viewer, you can use an explicit Androidintentfrom a website or native Android app to launch Scene Viewer via thecom.google.ar.core package and provide a browser_fallback_url. This way, youcan ensure that all users either have a native AR experience via Scene Viewer ora fallback experience that you have built yourself. For example, you might buildfallback experiences such as your own 3D viewer or a graceful error message.

false When set to false, users will not be able to scale the model in the AR experience. Scaling works normally in the 3D experience. disable_occlusion (optional) false (default) true When set to true, objects placed in the scene always appear in front of real world objects in the scene. See [Enable occlusion](/ar/develop/depth#enable_occlusion) for more information. UX guidanceTo provide the best possible UX for users, we recommend following theseguidelines.

For AR experiences, the visible call to action should convey that the user isabout to enter an immersive environment. We recommend that you use theView in your space call to action:

I have run into something like this previously. A few things to try:
1) use a different (older?) version of adobe reader
2) install another PDF reader (eg pdf exchange viewer)
3) install a PDF printer (eg. pdfcreator), print to that to create a new PDF file, and then try to print that from adobe reader

Next, I kept having all sorts of problems with MS Office, so that too went into the bit bucket.
I now use Open Office exclusively, for myself, and I install that for my customers who are having some kind of a problem with MS Office.

Hi yes my printer wont print from office word not even the latest one so uninstalled it when back to open office and bingo prints as good as gold, when word it kept ending me to one note and one drive when tried from there sent me back to word.
So yes use open office a great free program

Hello The Doctor! I read your reply (and the others) and I find myself in exactly the same boat regarding Foxit en Open Office. I use LibreOffice. The less Microsuck is on my system, the better. It is bad enough having to run with this OS for specific software that is not available on Ubuntu.
