Dear member,
You may be aware that the Institute of Marine Engineers (India),
Cochin Branch has decided to conduct a national seminar -   Cochin
Marine Seminar 2011 (COMERSEM 2011) on 18th and 19th November 2011 at
Indian Medical Association (IMA ) Hall, Kaloor, Kochi. COMERSEM is
conducted once in every 8 years. We have received many quality papers
on various subjects related to shipping for presentation. The
Institute, being a professional body, is trying to disseminate and
update knowledge of its members by conducting such seminars and
technical sessions.  You may be aware that it is becoming mandatory
for professionals to attend courses, technical sessions, seminars, etc
to update their knowledge for their continued professional development
in their profession. It is not far away that even to renew your
certificate of competencies, you may need to have records of attending
such seminars and technical sessions.
Shri Mohandas, Secretary, Ministry of Shipping has consented to be the
Chief Guest. Other eminent personalities agreed to attend the function
are Shri A. Banerjee, Chief Surveyor with Govt. of India, Shri. H.K.
Mittal, Chairman, Mercator Lines, Shri Yapa, CEO and MD, Colombo
Dockyard, etc. The expected expenditure per delegated is over Rs.
2000/-. However, the Seminar Committee has decided to collect only
Rs.800/- from its members and Rs. 1000/- for non-members for the 2
days seminar. You may also encourage others who are connected/
interested to attend the seminar. Please register your name as
