Grupo Frenesi Digital Bringing the Latino Sounds to FOLK Fabulous 2015!
This Saturday August 22, Grupo Frenesí Digital will be performing at 11:00 AM at FOLKFabulous 2015. Grupo Frenesí Digital is a 4 people band specializing in Mexican music including norteño, grupera, cumbia and other rhythms. They are based out of Camden SC and play all over the state. This presentation is part of Latino Arts in Motion, an initiative of Palmetto Luna Arts presenting Latino artistic and cultural activities in public spaces across the state.
FOLKFabulous is a free festival celebrating the traditional music of South Carolina, held on the Historic Horseshoe at the University of South Carolina. FOLKFabulous event opens McKissick Museum’s newest exhibit, Heard at Every Turn: Traditional Music in South Carolina, and will feature performing artists, food vendors, instrument makers, interviews with traditional music community scholars, and a variety of interactive opportunities so visitors can make music themselves. Attendees are encouraged to their acoustic instruments to jam with others! This is family-friendly event.
Palmetto Luna Arts’ mission is to foster an understanding of the Hispanic/Latino culture by promoting artistic creation and providing opportunities for cultural expression for the community in South Carolina.
