Like files, you can choose to only share with specific people that have a Google Account. If you have a work or school account, you can also share files or folders with a group. Learn how to create a group in Google Groups.

I cannot cannot for the life on me figure out how to do a full sync of an android folder to google drive. I can upload just fine. All files and folders. I can download a test file if its in a sub directory: root/folder/folder/file.file but the sub directory will not copy over. Only the file does.
It will not download the file if its direct folder is not listed in tasker. It will not download sub directories(folders) or the files contained regardless of what I do.

So am I stupid, or does tasker GD integration not have to ability to do a full folder sync? I'm trying to use google drive for, what should be, its intended purpose and sync data from the note taking app obsidian with multiple devices. I want this data to update to all devices when I change it on any of them.

At a minimum, I could drive the process by using http-client, going to the sharing link =sharing with no authentication and not need to jump through hoops. But of course, it would be cleaner to use a defined API and simply specify the public shared folder in order to list the contents and, if needed, download the files from the public folder.

Note: Stay in Safe folder until the transfer is complete. If you close Safe folder or open another app before the transfer is complete, the operation will be cancelled and the file will stay in Safe folder.

Safe folder keeps your files secure using Android storage with encryption. On rare occasions, files can become corrupt or get deleted. When this happens, no one can see the content of your files anymore including Files by Google.

Important: To move a file, you must have permission to move the file from the source to the destination, otherwise the file won't be moved. A shortcut is created in the destination folder instead.

Using a link column means I have to navigate to the folder, find the link, copy it, and then add it in Monday. Using the Drive integration would mean that I can find it the same way I find a file. Super useful.

Hi, With DriveSync integration, you can easily connect your board items and files to Google Drive.
Whenever you create a new item, DriveSync will automatically create a folder for it in Google Drive. Plus, it will make sure that the files from your items get copied into their respective Google Drive folders too. Super convenient!

To delete your Google Drive files, move them to the trash. Files in trash will be automatically deleted after 30 days. You can restore files from your trash before the 30-day time window. You can also permanently delete them to empty your trash. If you delete, restore, or permanently delete multiple files or folders at once, it might take time for you to notice the changes.

You will then be prompted to select an account. Make your choice and tap OK. Next you must allow the app permission to view and manage files in your Google Drive account. To do this, tap ALLOW (when prompted). You can now configure the syncing of folders to Google Drive by tapping the Choose What To Sync button. To set this up, you must first create a folder pair. From the main window (Figure C), tap Let Me Create My Own Folder Pair.

In the resulting window (Figure D), tap the Remote folder section and navigate to the remote Drive folder you want to use. (You might want to create a new folder for this in Google Drive first.) Then tap the Local folder section and navigate to the folder you want to sync.

Next, configure the sync method, make sure the sync is enabled, and tap SAVE. Go back to the main window and tap the SYNCED FOLDERS tab. If you notice that the new folder pair is disabled, toggle the ON/OFF slider to the on position (Figure E) and the sync will begin.

To create a file in a specific folder, use the files.create method and specify the folder ID in theparents property of the file. The parents property contains the parentfolder IDs that contain the file. The following code sample shows how to createa file in a specific folder using a client library:

To add or remove parents for an existing file, use files.update method with the addParents andremoveParents query parameters. The following code sample shows how to move afile between folders using a client library:

A user's My Drive can't contain more than 100 levels of nestedfolders. This means that a child folder cannot be stored under a folder that'smore than 99 levels deep. This limitation only applies to child folders. A childfile with a MIME type other thanapplication/vnd.google-apps.folder is exempt from this limitation.

Yep, any client without access to a particular Cloud drives API would have to use some other method. It should be the same as the GDrive method, just substitute that drive's sync folder for your chosen cloud drive client. Provided ALL your computers / devices can access the drive it should work.

Since I wrote this I've had a few disastrously failures using File Sync over a cloud drive. I got fouled up syncs a few times. So, I begrudgingly switched to using OneDrive for direct sync and have not had an issue with it since. It chaps my XXX to use OneDrive, I am loathe to use OneDrive but it works. I have few enough notes that it does not even come close to touching the limit of the free account. I am waiting for MS to screw this up or drop the free accounts. After that I think I will switch to manually syncing. This too is not available to Linux as AFAIK, MS never opened OneDrive up toe Linux clients.

However, as all the embeds in this old article about the filesystem tool now show a Google Drive folder syncing app called "AutoSync" (ironically another name applicable to both filesystems and cars) it seems safe to assume that it's the current version of the app referred to in the OP comment by @Rootman.

Is it possible to download all folders from a shared Google Drive folder? I don't want people to have to download > 300 files individually. I am sending this to people that don't have Google accounts, so they can't just press the blue Google Drive button I assume.

The only downside I noticed in switching from Google Drive to OneDrive is, OneDrive's web view doesn't (currently) have a handy "Upload folders" option, like Google's. If you're using the web view, you have to create the folders manually, then select all in your folder and upload the contents. It's not too bad though, 5 clicks instead of 1.

There's one other big advantage to OneDrive from a content creator's point of view: you can chose a sort order, including manual sort, and save it to be the folder's default sort order for people viewing it. Viewing users can choose and save a different sort order for themselves, if they want, but you can control the default order.

If you do have a google account the UI is a bit different. There are breadcrumbs at the top showing the path to the folder you're in. After the current folder's name is a caret with a drop-down menu with a Download option. Clicking on that opens a little pop-over at the bottom showing the progress of zipping the folder into a file. When that is complete, your browser begins downloading the zip file.

This wikiHow teaches you how to download an entire folder from Google Drive to your Android phone or tablet. Although there is no way to download a folder in the Android app, you can select the individual files inside the folder and mark them as available for offline use. If you want to be able to move the files around and use them in apps other than Google Drive, you can download the entire folder as a compressed (ZIP) file by signing into Drive in a web browser.

I have tried to copy my External HD to google drive but as I understand there needs to be some space on the computer drive for it to do that. Anyhow it didnt work. As a result of my research I found syncthing.

If you already sync your Google Drive folders with your local computer using Google Drive for desktop, you can simply point Syncthing to a folder inside your Google Drive folder structure. That way you get sync between local folders on your different devices plus bonus cloud access & backup via Google Drive.

Automatic backup for your local files and folders is the best choice to keep them safe in the event of disk failure, software corruption, virus attacks, and more. Google Drive as the most popular cloud storage service, is the first option for cloud backup. Why choose Google Drive as the automatic backup solution? Below are the answers:

2. Open the Google Drive app, tap the "+" (plus) icon in the bottom right corner, and select "Upload". Browse and choose the folder you want to automatically backup to Google Drive.

3. Once the folder is selected, tap "Start" to begin the backup process. Google Drive will ask if you want to enable "Backup and Sync" for that folder. Toggle the switch to turn on "Backup and Sync" for automatic backups.

Besides the way to automatically backup folders to Google Drive, you have another choice to backup files to Google Drive from other clouds, including OneDrive, Dropbox, MEGA, Gmail, iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, Dropbox Business, OneDrive for Business, Google Workspace, and more, the powerful cloud file manager - MultCloud. On the other hand, you can upload files to Google Drive directly with MultCloud so that you can bypass Google Drive desktop app not syncing problem.

Hey Makers Is it possible to automate this workflow - whenever a new file is uploaded to a Google Drive folder as a Google Sheet > grab certain columns of data within the newly uploaded Sheet > and then copy & paste those data to an existing Google Sheet?

You can share OneDrive files, photos, and folders from the OneDrive app on your Android device just as you can on a PC or Mac. You can also see files that other people have shared with you. To stop sharing, go to the OneDrive website and sign in with your Microsoft account, or with your work or school account.
