I got an external hard disk with lots of stuff I use in it. I connect it to different computers, sometimes not mine, so I use "NTFS drive protection" to keep my files from being deleted accidentally or by antivirus false flags or other reasons. the only problem I have is that Windows defender deletes or quarantines some of my files each time I connect it to a system with active Windows Defender. Is there any way to manipulate my files so that windows defender can't delete or quarantine it because of its stupid false flags or anything else. May be better to say "is there any way to make files inaccessible for Windows Defender?" or "Is there any way to make files that are falsely flagged in windows defender look the other way?".Regards
Step 1: Remember, since you don't have access to your Windows machine, you'll need to do this on a different computer that has Internet access. Once you download the Live CD ISO file, you will need to burn it to a disc or a USB drive. You'll need about 1GB of space on the drive.
Step 2 : What you have now is bootable media on a disc or USB drive. Use this to boot up your locked machine. After the regular boot process, you should be able to see the Ophcrack window with several options. "Automatic" is the default, and it will start in a few seconds if you don't do anything. You can also press "Enter" for the process to initiate manually.
Step 3 : Once the software loads, you'll see a bunch of text running down the screen. You should also see a small window where it says that an partition with details of an encrypted password has been found. That's good.
Step 4 : When the program has done its job, you'll see a windows with users and NT passwords listed. If yours is not in there, that means Ophcrack couldn't find the user or the password has not been cracked. If it says "empty", that means you can login to that user or admin account without a password.
Yeah I'm not so worried of anyone having network access. I guess I will reinstall the GMail notifier now that I know why it was so easy to recover the password. I also remembered how easy it is to recover a windows login password, so I changed that to be longer so it's not LM Hashed, which I should have done the day I learned that XP stores this password with LM Hash, but I have my security slack like everyone else I guess.
Experiments results: how ever... none of this worded... from that point i started using cain and abel (to capture the data between computer B and C and between the router and Computer A)... once again ... nothing appeared... later on i started using another software (York)... again nothing
I tried something that worked in Windows 10. Sometimes windows programs with an exe extension don't work because the path is too long. I moved LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32.exe and LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-9.1.001.img.gz to the root directory, C: . Then, the program completed.
