The drivers installed easily on my machine at work. Unfortunately, they will not install on my computer at home. When I double click on the Setup.exe, it asks me if I want to install it, and of course I click on "Yes", but nothing happens. When I say nothing happens, I mean nothing happens; it appears that it doesn't even try to install. The same thing happens when I right click on the setup.exe and select run as administrator.
Upon looking up your mouse, I see that A4Tech doesn't offer a driver for anything newer than Vista 32-bit. But the Windows driver package they offer DOES contain Windows 2003 64-bit and XP 64-bit drivers, so MAYBE one of those will work.
If you can't acquire a 64-bit driver for Windows 7, you could try the freeware X-Mouse Button Control. It will let you program the functions of the various buttons. I'm not sure how it will handle the dual scroll wheels though.
I am intending to get wireless mouse (most probably A4Tech G7-540) and on other 2.4G wireless mouse, but I am not sure that whether Ubuntu 10.04 LTS will support it as a plug n play, or do I need to install its drivers? As I haven't found any Linux drivers for it on A4Tech website.
I am currently using A4Tech G9 - 557 HX mouse in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and all the base functions of the mouse are accessible, including variable resolution, mouse click, scroll and auto-configuration. I have not programmed the shuttle key yet, it pastes a website address.
A4Tech G9 Mouse acts like two USB devices are connected. One is the mouse and the other one is the keyboard. For more information open the terminal and run: egrep "NameHandlers" /proc/bus/input/devices
Hi Guys,
I'm using Arch Linux in a Dell Laptop. I don't use external mouse usually. But today I wanted play some games with my friends so tried to connect an external A4Tech mouse. But it is not working. Mouse is okay and I've used that mouse in windows before. I searched in google and other forums but no solution worked. When I connect mouse in my laptop my touchpad stops working But I can move my cursor using my mouse. But whenever I click my mouse buttons nothing happens. So I checked my xorg log in /var/log/Xorg.0.log after connecting my mouse in my laptop. Here is the log
Well I tried xwininfro and I got the output and it's working. But It does says that "pointer can't be grabbed". I tried to connect my mouse after plugging out my charging adapter. It sometimes works. But sometimes it does some weird work around when I connect the mouse like pasting my clipboard item, freezing in grab mode when I try to move the selected window and sometimes my when I plug in my mouse my touchpad stops working. I can still move the cursor but I can't click with my touchpad when my mouse is plugged in.
This "smart" mouse has, I hope, a programmable button near the middle one. So, by default, when I click it, a string pastes from some internal buffer (an URL to A4TECH site). Is it possible to change, or at least to get rid of this annoying action?
Take a look at this -Chan/init-gmouse URI; there is a young development project to control these mouse/kbd sets [and separate devices too]. This project should be not considered either a panaceia or something safe usable. But it's the only project I've ever found yet at the moment. So I'm in.
I would like to ask, if there are any unofficial Linux drivers for the Bloody gaming mouses series from A4Tech, since the official ones only support Windows. My A4Tech mouse works nicely on Linux, but i I cannot set new dpi values ( I can only change between preset ones that are saved on my mouse from my previous use on Windows ).
Recommendation: Download DriverDoc [Download DriverDoc - Product by Solvusoft], a driver update tool that is recommended for Windows users who are inexperienced in manually updating A4Tech Mouse drivers. DriverDoc automatically downloads and updates your A4Tech driver, ensuring you are installing the correct version for your operating system.
Additionally, when you use DriverDoc to update your Mouse drivers, you'll also be able to keep all of your other PC drivers updated by utilizing our extensive database of over 2,150,000 drivers (with daily updates), covering all hardware devices.
Finding the correct Mouse driver directly on the manufacturer's website for your hardware might seem futile. While finding, downloading, and manually updating your A4Tech Mouse drivers takes a lot of time, the process can also be confusing. Inaccurate driver versions may have an adverse impact on your computer's performance, often creating more problems.
For the time and effort involved in the driver update process, we highly suggest using driver utility software. Driver update utilities ensure you have correct drivers that are compatible with your hardware, it also guarantees that there is a backup of current drivers before any software/hardware changes are made. Backing up your drivers provides you with the security of knowing that you can rollback any driver to a previous version if something goes wrong.

Yeah doesn't work even with latest driver version, Might be permanent hardware issue. Only Cyan color is stuck in breathing mode.
Though it's very old keyboard that i'm stilling using, So don't care that much to take it to the customer service, I'll keep using it like this until I get a new one.

I have Ubuntu 18.04. Today in the morning I allowed the updates were installed and after system requested reboot mouse wheel doesn't scroll content up and down anymore. Touchpad still does but it's not convenient for me.Mouse A4tech laser Model: X6-22D which is connected to the laptop Asus UX310U by wire.Any ideas? Can I fix it or roll back mouse driver update.
I have an A4Tech X6-80D mouse and the 4.15.0-62 kernel contained this bug, so I installed kernel 5.0 on my Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS with the commands below (kernel 5.0 is not automatically installed if you have initially an Ubuntu version lower than 18.04.2).
In the Mouse Properties window, select the Wheel tab and try adjusting the number of lines to scroll the mouse or try changing the mouse to scroll one page at a time. After this is adjusted, click Apply and then click OK. Verify this change helps correct your mouse issues.
In a lot of the cheaper makes all the dongle and mouse must be made the same and so you could probably interchange them if you had two sets. Some types have a button to push which allows them to scan and join the them up. However, I doubt that you can interchange parts from different makers. The cost of them is not high and some of the cheaper sets are about $5 with some of the more well known makes at up to 5 times that. I suggest you get a replacement set.
