Job Description:
The ideal candidate has 5 to 8 years experience in general process plant design, and specific experience in piping systems design. The individual will be responsible for reviewing as-built 3D plant models for accuracy and general quality control as well as “intelligizing” these models with information from design documentation. • Use Company’s applications to model 3D graphical objects from laser scan data, digital photographs, or engineering drawings.
• Addition of asset information to graphical objects (i.e., equipment tags, line attributes, etc) taken from engineering documents including P&ID.
• Input to schedules, estimates, progress reports and staffing forecasts.
• Generation of 2-D and/or 3-D drawings using industry standard software such as Bentley Microstation, AutoCAD, or SmartPlant / Isogen.
• Field verify 3D virtual plant models when discrepancies are found
• Check the accuracy of deliverables to ensure that they conform to pertinent codes, governing regulations and industry practices.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have good computer usage skills working with 3D software in the area of Mechanical / Piping design. Knowledge of engineering design and best practices is particularly helpful. In addition, the candidate must:
• Have experience in piping design and able to understand P&ID’s and Isometric drawings.
• Know 3D CAD systems, or related software. Knowledge in PDS or PDMS is a major plus.
• Have a strong bias for action.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, be well organized and able to focus on task.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Be dependable.
Travel: Occasional travel to client site for field verification work may be required.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in engineering or science is a plus
