Toronto 2012 IGNITE program
The IGNITE program is a community partnership enabling individuals, organizations and communities to be associated with the Games, and hopes to encompass the projects and events that are inspired by the Games coming to the region. The goal of the TO2015 community outreach department is to get the community to the Games and get the Games to the community. The team strives to engage local communities in embracing the Games as their own. To do this, TO2015 created the IGNITE program, with the mission of capturing opportunities arising from the largest multi-sport Games Canada has ever hosted.
The TO2015 IGNITE program is looking for initiatives that include and/or promote:
- community sport, physical activity and recreation
- healthy active living
- Pan American culture(s)
- inclusivity and diversity

- hosting a Pan American sports day within your community
- conferences
- healthy-living programs (such as, girls’ leadership programs)
- after-school programs
- volunteer community sport programs
- arts and culture programs or initiatives
