I think that there is a metaphysical connection between the modesty
displayed by women and the wholeness with which their children grow
up. The modesty displayed by a woman, either by donning the hijab,
niqab, jilbab or by wearing loose clothing in general, is simply a way
in which a woman protects her body. The wholesome growth of a child is
also a sort of protection. A woman protects her child from physical,
mental and spiritual damages, for him to be able to grow up as a true
human being. And let's not forget that her child was once part of her
body as well. The importance that a woman gives to the protection of
her own body reflects the way in which she would be protective of her
own children. Off course, there is no direct relationship between the
two. A fully covered woman doesn't automatically imply that her
children will come out fine. Neither does a wholesome child imply that
its mother was fully covered. Nevertheless, the principle remains.
Even though there may be no direct relationship, there still is some
sort of a connection. I guess it sort of reflects the general
understanding of a woman, her general outlook on life. A fully covered
woman in some ostensible way implies that she is very protective of
her privacy, and hence will make sure that she extends this protection
to her children as well.
