Welcome to our first edition of 2009: Celebrating Historic Change. We hope that 2009 is a great year for everyone. The beginning of a new year is always a time for self-reflection and resolutions. I am inspired by two people we will celebrate this month: Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama. Martin Luther King Jr. led the way with civil rights and his teachings are still applicable today. Barack Obama is just beginning to make history. His presidency holds great promise and hope for our country. I am excited about what the future holds including the opportunities for the young girls in our lives.
