Initial Comment:
Created project with 518 slides.Edited and saved with no problems. ( Nice program!! )
Upon opening project later, program crashes when importing slides at around 256.
Used deb file from Sourceforge on Linux Mint 8 ( Ubuntu 9.10 base, I believe)
Is project too big?

Something similar occurs to me. Imagination 3.0r1. I created a project
without problems (about 424 slides). I close imagination, then I open it
and open the project. At about slide 256 Imagination crashes.
I haven't got any angle=3 in img file.
The only message it show on terminal is: "Violación de segmento (`core'
generado)"
(segment fault)
Ubuntu 12.04 64bits

I can confirm that "angle=3" can cause a crash in Imagination 2.1
(2.1-1.1ubuntu2) on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit, and that changing the slide to
"angle=0" with a text editor averts the crash. However, I was working on my
34-slide project for quite a while with that "angle=3" slide in there, and
didn't have any problems. The only thing that changed was that I added some
blank slides into the slideshow, where I hadn't had any before. The slide
that causes the crash immediately precedes a blank slide, in case that has
any bearing.

I had similar problem. I discovered that the value in "number of slides" in
settings section in the .img file, had 1 more than the actual slides that
were in the rest of the file. I changed manually to be the same and I could
open or import the project successfuly.

The crash with missing filenames should have been fixed in imagination
3.0.
The crash with rotation is new to me (I did not used rotation before). Can
you provide me the project file ? (here or rob...@cheramy.net, as you
like).

I have some insights. I created a project, saved it, then decided to add a
few pictures. Foolishly, I reopened the project, shoved in an SD card, and
imported the pictures. You see my problem. I saved the project, closed
Imagination, and then my project would not load, only crashing with
"assertion `filename != NULL' failed
Segmentation fault"
Then I copied the images to the hard disk, copied the project file, edited
the image paths so they were all correct - still crashed. I had needed to
rotate ONE of my images, so that "angle=1". To fix this edited file, all I
have to do is change that to "angle=0". Good news - I rescued my project.
Bad news - any time I rotate THAT IMAGE, loading the project crashes the
program. I don't know what makes this image so special.

I recreated the project with 2.1 and it loads without crash. Seems it only
happens when upgrading from 1.5.

Same problem occurs with my slideshow. I originally created it with 1.5.
Then after installing 2.1 I added a title (slide text) and some zoom and
panning for two slides and saved it. Up to that point I was really happy
with imagination. Upon trying to reopen the show I got seg faults like
reported by coburn.

I experienced this same problem. Slideshow has 50 slides (total 100) and
was imported from v1.5. Using Ubuntu (Mint) 9.10 i386. Crashes partway
through loading. 4 tries on different versions of the file give me the
following messages log:
