Summary: slow transitions

Initial Comment:
Transitions were working fine. They are now very slow. I don't know if installing Xara caused this problem since I installed it just before the problem was noted.
I recompiled Imagination 3.0 twice but there was no change; still slow..

Can I uninstall Imagination 3.0 and start fresh ? I am using Ubuntu 10-10 Kernel 2.6.35-28
