Imagination 2.1 installed from Imagination_2.1-1_i386 deb. Installed onto Ubuntu 9.10. Preview does not play audio of imported file (vorbis). However, completed video does have audio. Am I missing a libsox file?

Problem with preview audio not playing... I figured out that you need SOX
installed. Not just libsox-fmt-whatever, but SOX too. It seems that SOX
(The swiss army knife of sound processing) is not one of the dependencies
that is required by the imagination 2.1 install, but it looks as though its
absolutely necessary to use the audio preview play button. (on the audio
tab) In addition there are no error messages posted at the console when
running the app from a terminal window. For reference, I'm running Lucid
(10.04) 64-bit. What an excellent DVD slide-show app!!

It's rather strange that now it's working if before it wasn't. Sure you
didn't install another package requiring libsox-fmt-all? I'm not sure if
the Imagination DEB contains it as a dependancy since I created it with
checkinstall...

Exactly the same problem over here, libsox-fmt-all installed. At first I
couldn't even import the MP3 file (import was working on OGG), but none of
them is able to play.
Is there any quick resolution?

button turns into a square, and as mentioned before, there is notification
at the bottom that the application is playing the selected song. However,
clicking on the square button does not turn it back into a play symbol. The
button symbol remains a square and there is no notification on the screen
that the application has stopped the audio playback.

On the right side of the screen there are two tabs, labeled Audio and
Video. I click on the Audio tab, then highlight the audio file I want to
play. At the bottom of the screen, under the words Music Duration, there is
a play button. I click on that. The program says that it is playing the
selected file but there is no sound.

the audio preview OF THE SLIDESHOW is not developed yet. I think you are
talking about it NOT the preview of audio files you can have by clicking
the play button under Music Duration label in the Audiio tab. Am I right?

This applies to the audio portion of the preview only. Video preview works

What do you mean by preview: audio file preview or video preview.
Imagination has those two things separated at the moment, which basically
means that you need to preview audio and video separately.
Hopefully in the future, we'll add "complete" preview to Imagination, that
will play video and audio concurrently, but for now, this is not possible.
Thanks for reporting this. I'll change resolution status of this bug to
"Accepted" to serve as a reminder to developers.

Just tried an mp3 file. Same response. Imagination says that it is playing
