How to get annotations for ILSVRC2010 validation data

I want to run some experiments on the validation set of ILSVRC2010, because it's only 5GB and relatively small compared to training/testing set.
There are 50,000 validation images, named
ILSVRC2010_val_00000001.JPEG
ILSVRC2010_val_00000002.JPEG
...
ILSVRC2010_val_00049999.JPEG
ILSVRC2010_val_00050000.JPEG

The ground truth labels have been provided in ILSVRC2010_validation_ground_truth.txt, where each line indicates the corresponding ILSVRC2010_ID of the image.
However, I can't figure out how to find the corresponding annotation xml file for each image.
For example, the ILSVRC2010_ID for ILSVRC2010_val_00000001.JPEG is 78, by which we can find the WordNet ID of it is n09428293. But there're more than 1000 xml files in the /Annotation/n09428293 folder so I can't decide which one to use. Any ideas?

You're looking at training set annotations. The validation set bounding box annotation files are named ILSVRC2010_val_00000001.xml etc.

Thanks. But where can I download the validation set annotation files? I've only found Annotation.tar.gz available for downloading, which contains xml files named like `/n00007846/n00007846_6247.xml`.

Hi Yukun,

Ah I see the confusion. There was no localization challenge in 2010, so there are no bounding box annotations released with the validation dataset that year. Try the latest 2013 challenge instead:

http://www.image-net.org/challenges/LSVRC/2013/
