Hi,

Image Booster is a function which will pre-load some images into memory.

Image Booster contains 3 components:
- Image list
- Loading queue
- Loading thread

Assuming, the index of viewing image in the image list is 4:
- The 3rd and 5th images will be pushed to the loading queue.
- Loading thread will automatically load all the queuing images into memory.
- When user views the 5th image, ImageGlass will display it instantly from memory.

Pros:
- Image can be display instantly.
- Fast navigation

Cons:
- Occupy more memory because of pre-loaded images
- Not working when user select viewing image randomly.

Hope this helps :)

Any chance to specify how many images shall be prefetched?

Use case: I got some very large (20MPix+) images that I need to go through. Sometimes I need to advance fast, sometimes slowly. If I stay longer on one image IG could prefetch more images in advance.
RAM is not the problem for me ;-)

Thanks

Hi!

In the latest version, there is no options to specify how many images shall be prefetched. ImageGlass always prefetches 3 images.
However, I have a plan to improve this, and I am also working on the new core library of ImageGlass.

You may want to read my blog about what I'm doing:
