Hi!

- What version of ImageGlass are you using?
- Can you describe your expectation of the image?
- Please attach the screenshot of ImageGlass and the software that display correctly as you mentioned.
- Please attach the sample files you use to test.

Hi,

I am using version 7.0.7.26. I have not tried latest 7.5.1.1 since I uninstalled it and am currently using JPEGView. But would love to use this app if the issue is fixed.

If you view the image using the old Windows Photo Viewer you will see that the colors are better represented and are vibrant. Viewing the same file in Image Glass results in poor color representation. This is because the Color Profile of the image is using Adobe RGB not standard RGB.

Hope that helps describe the problem.

I opened your image file in MS Paint, Chrome 79, and ImageGlass 7.5
I can't see any difference

I can see it. If you look at the yellow part of the building, the one in Paint is brighter.

Here is another image https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UbMrd9oU6le-EFuPEtc1iUZSqDLskTrG/view?usp=sharing

This one should show the color on ImageGlass will be paler than it should be.

BTW do not use Paint as it will have the same issue.

As I said use the old Windows Photo Viewer.

Do you have a modified and/or calibrated Windows Color Management profile for your monitor?

No I have not modified my monitor calibration. I just installed Windows default. Do you not see the problem on your end even with the old Window Photo Viewer?

There are other programs i've used and they all work with Adobe when I tell them to look at the color profile in the jpegs.

I was in the middle of deadline work last night and ImageGlass just stopped, demanding an update and refused to show the images.

Twenty minutes later I was working again.

Totally unacceptable. It set me back.

If a forced update is needed it should warn and give an option to delay, not stop workflow in its tracks.

Please resolve

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sorry for the thing happened to you!

But the update dialog is designed to display without disrupting user experience.
It's in a separated file (process), so it should not interrupt the ImageGlass app.

Could you tell me:
- What is the version you updated from?
- What is current version you are using now?
- Was there any error when ImageGlass stopped working?

Thanks,
Phap

Just asking another question to confirm we are all working from the same data.

With your second image, I do see that ImageGlass shows the paler color compared to Windows Photo Viewer.

Other viewers I've tested: Chrome, XnView, IrfanView, all show the same pale color. I don't have another viewer readily to hand which can use or even see the ICC profile data.

There are other programs i've used and they all work with Adobe when I tell them to look at the color profile in the jpegs.

Since I'm missing such a program, could you mention a few? [Preferably free!]

We're going to have to do some more research and probably take this up with the folks who provide our image decode library (Magick.NET and ImageMagick). So I don't have a quick or easy answer for you right now.  Phap, do you have any further thoughts on this?

My thanks for providing some useful images for diagnosing this! I understand your frustration with the problem and I'm sorry we don't have an answer for you yet.
Kevin
