I am trying to understand your issue.

Can you provide me further information?

- Windows version

- Image format. E.g. JPG

- Image dimension. E.g. 1000x500 pixels

- File size. E.g. 2MB

- Number of image files in the viewing folder.

It would be awesome if you can provide me the sample image that causes the issue.

I'm on Windows 10. It happens with EVERY format and no matter what the image dimension or size is. It could be a 3KB 120x120 jpg and it would still take too long to load. I downloaded ImageGlass 1.5.22 and that launches very quickly, however I can't get that version set as default.

What happens if you just run ImageGlass directly, i.e. without double-clicking on an image?

Which version of ImageGlass is having the problem? Have you tried one of the recent ImageGlass Moon (see pinned announcement)?

It still takes too long opening it directly. This is on 5.5. Again, after installing 1.5.22 it loads MUCH quicker, around 15 seconds now rather than 1min+. However, I guess 1.5.22 isn't registered with the file formats properly, so it's very difficult to set it as the default program, especially on Windows 10.

The recent ImageGlass Moon releases should be a little faster to load.

If you need to use an older release, I suggest using the 3.5.9.17 release, as the last release before the advanced image support (and the slowdown) was introduced.

Off-hand, I don't know whether it'll be better with image file registration...

I think the issue is due to Magick.NET library.

It is reported that Magick.NET v7.6 takes 5 minutes the first time! The recent nVidia drivers (version 410+) have an OpenCL update that seems to be causing Magick.NET to fail.

I have just updated Magick.NET to v7.9.0.2 to fix this issue.

Because this doesn't happen on my machine, please help me to check the new version called ImageGlass Moon v5.5.11.28, if the issue was fixed.
