Hello,

I am using Windows Photo Viewer (Windows essentials) for many years. This image viewer opens images in "actual size" mode except the case when size of the image is bigger than viewer's window size, then image is opened in "scale to fit" mode. Such viewer's behaviour makes sense if you are ordinary user working with many images with different sizes. In that case when your are browsing folder with images in image viewer, you will see automatically every image completely and in maximum quality.

How to set this behaviour in ImageGlass?

Regards, Martin.

In ImageGlass, "Auto-zoom" is:
- show image at 100% if smaller than window;
- otherwise show as scale-to-fit

If you want something like "always show images at 100%, even if larger than the window", then do the following:
1. Select "Actual Size" (Alt+0 [zero])
2. Select "Lock zoom ratio" (Ctrl+L)

If I've misunderstood your request, please clarify.
Enjoy!

Thank you for your answer,

But, what do you mean by auto-zoom? Do you mean button auto-zoom or algorithm that viewer uses when it is opening image?

I am asking, because the viewer opened me several images in 139% zoom, which doesn't makes sense to me.

Sorry for being unclear. The "Auto-zoom" button / menu should give you "100% zoom if smaller, zoom-to-fit if larger" behavior. After selecting "Auto-zoom", do not select "Lock zoom".

If it's still giving you difficulty, I'll ask for more details to investigate a possible bug in our code.

So here is what my Zoom menu (main menu -> Zoom) looks like:

Capture.PNG

Any other settings could possibly give you behavior like opening at 139%. Unless, again, we have a bug ...

Thank you for explanation, that solved my problem. It is not a bug. I had checked option "zoom to fit" instead of "auto zoom".

I am having the same issue on my 4k monitor. The auto zoom option was set by default but the images are all shown smaller than their true size.

I also have this issue in other apps like GIMP.  Windows Photo Viewer shows images in their true size.

Any ideas? Thanks!
