Image Glass changes JPEG thumbnail after being made default viewer

Hello,

I've just downloaded Image Glass and I think it's a good image viewer app, but I also noticed that once I made it the default image viewer app it automatically changed the small thumbnails for the images. Any way around this? To not allow the app override the thumbnails?

No, that is how the "default image viewer" works in Windows.

If you want to override specific extensions, you'll need to use Windows Settings. In Windows 10, search for "Choose default apps by file type", and there you can dis-associate ImageGlass from .jpg, .jpeg, and .jpe files.

I've had issues with my windows photo viewer so I downloaded imageglass with the hope to replace it. However, the lack of thumbnail on my photos makes it extremely difficult to work with :/

Is there a solution for this on Windows 10. I tried everything. Nothing seems to work. Is there a way to see image previews instead of the imageglass default icon. Imageglass is a nice app but showing default icons is very irritating. Is there a way to show image previews without uninstalling or removing associations?

Hi, I just installed ImageGlass and I set it as my default image viewer. I was ready to switch permanently and stop using the "Photos" app.  However I have the same problem described above.  In file explorer, thumbnails are not shown anymore and are replaced by the "ig" icon (it only happens when viewing as "list", but when viewing as "large icons" all thumbs can be seen normally).   With this "list view" problem, it's almost impossible to switch to ImageGlass for everyday work.    Here's a screenshot that shows the problem.  Notice how ImageGlass is the default viewer for BMP, GIF, JPEG and PNG files.  And also notice that I set JPG files to be opened with "Photos app", and those files show a thumbnail without problem:

 

Please, we want to switch to IG.  Your help will be appreciated.
