Simulated Surgical Systems, a pioneer in designing robot-assisted surgery simulators, declared that it has supplied its advanced Robotic Surgery Simulator to the Karolinska University Hospital based in Stockholm, Sweden. Simulated Surgical Systems, established in 2009, is a joint effort between the University at Buffalo's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Center for Robotic Surgery at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI). The company has developed advanced simulators that closely resemble the feel and touch of a robotic surgery system. Peter Wiklund, robotic surgeon at the Karolinska Institute, stated that the hospital is happy to receive the first Robotic Surgery Simulator in Europe and is looking forward to integrate it into its robotic surgery training program.
