Hi all,

I have a new feature to make the OTT app which can lead to App-Store by the user clicking on Video Ad.

Could you please share the document for handling this?

Thanks and Regards,
Minh

I mean the app-store will be loaded for the first time without via browser.

Hi Minh,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Can you provide more details on the kind of documentation you need? I'm asking because the IMA SDK for Android has the ClickThrough feature implemented by default. If your VAST XML contains a ClickThrough element with an embedded and valid URI, the Learn More button once clicked will redirect the user to the advertiser's page.

=> Yes I know. But in case of having the landing page which will be app-store URL. User can click on ad to redirect to App-Store directly without via Browser?

Hi Minh,

Thank you for getting back to us on this.

With regard to the use case that you're describing, I'm afraid this is not yet supported by the SDK. By default the SDK will open a browser (advertiser's landing page) once the Clickthrough URL has been triggered.

Just to clarify, since you're using the IMA SDK for Android, are you referring to Play store for Android and not the App store for iOS?

=> I have the App for both platforms (IOS and Android), As I know the IOS has already supported redirect to App Store directly? The Android isn't ready now.

Hi,

Can you confirm whether you want the Android users to be redirected to the Google Play Store or the App Store? I'm asking because the SDK already supports the
market// protocol which the SDK uses to redirect the user to Google Play Store. The SDK also supports the itms-apps// protocol that redirects the users on the advertiser's App Store page. However, a ClickThrough URI with the itms-apps// protocol cannot be opened on Android for simple reason that there's no App Store available on Android.
Assuming that you wanna redirect your users to both App Store and Google Play Store, a solution to this issue would be to have two different ads (one for Android devices the other one for iOS) with two different ClickThrough URIs, one that points to the advertiser's App Store page and the other one to the Google Play Store page.

Thanks for your clarify information. This helps.
i'm feeling very clear about what you mentioned
So we can close the topic here.
