Hi,

I have a question regarding the HTML 5 IMA SDK.

While playing an Ad through the Video Suit Inspector I see two different behaviours on where the Ad HTML Video element is inserted in the DOM. In Chrome Desktop the Video Element is outside the SDK Iframe(direct child of the AdContainer), while in Firefox Desktop the Video Element is inside the SDK Iframe(Child of the SDK iFrame). Can you please explain what is causing this difference?

Details and screenshots below, corresponding to the playback of the sample AdTag using the Video Suit Inspector. (https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/vastinspector)

Many thanks,

Esteban

1) In Chrome Desktop:

AdContainer:
Video Element
Video Element
Iframe

2) In Firefox Desktop:
AdContainer:
Iframe (With IMA SDK):
Video Element (In this one the creative is loaded)
Video Element (This one is hidden)

Hi Esteban,

I tried the Video Suit Inspector on my end using both Firefox and Chrome and I wasn't able to replicate the behavior you have mentioned. As you can see in the Chrome_screenshot, the video elements are contained within the iframe element, which you can also observe in the Firefox_screenshot.

That being said, if you still have clarifications regarding the issue, you may provide more information or steps that I can use to replicate the issue so I can further investigate.

Best regards,

Hi Peter,

Please note that I was referring to the inner Iframe. (Src=https://imasdk...)

See that in your screenshots the video elements are not within the same IFrame. The chrome capture has 2 div blocks which contains the video element for ads before the Iframe.

Regards,
Esteban

Hi Esteban,

Is this behavior causing you any ill effects? We generally do not comment on the specifics of this type of internal SDK behavior as it may be subject to change in the future. The SDK will behave differently on different platforms to ensure the best user experience at all times.
